hey wassup Turtles its Creek here with black outdoors and today I'm going to be doing review on the Eno one link hammock sleep system now depending on the options you choose within the one link the price will vary but specifically what I have right now in the stuff sack this is $219.95 it comes in this nice stuff sack of rip stop material and what the one link is comprised of it's going to pull it out and show you what's in here we have I have the double nest hammock a set of stakes of Easton stakes there's four in here a set of Atlas straps the pro fly rain tarp nylon rain tarp and last but not least the Guardian bug net now I'm going to go get all this set up and go into more detail about each thing and giving my impressions and thoughts on the whole system now I have the one link set up I'm going to go we're going to go check it out and we're going to talk about it I'm going to give my review and my opinions on the whole system

now I have the whole one link set up and to start with my impressions I first of all I really like this system everything being together its ways under five pounds which is pretty light if you think compared ibly a three season two person backpacking tent it's going to be you know right around this weight as well but this is a modular system meaning I can use the tarp by itself I can use the hammock by itself if I just want to use the hammock and the bug net by itself I can so it's really modular I use the hammock just by itself pretty much every week right now so again why I really like this Eno specifically because it is modular one of the cool features I like about the tarp specifically is the line locks that's present anywhere cordage meets the tarp and it basically acts like a taut line so if I release some tension off of it by here and there's some tension right now and I want to tighten it up all I got to do is pull here I don't have to worry about getting tension when I'm putting the stake in the ground anything else I can do it all right here all points of contact on the tarp now this tarp is a coated nylon to feta it's right over ten feet maybe ten and a half feet long honestly I would maybe like it a little bit longer just to give a little bit extra clearance with the hammock underneath it but as but I got it pretty well centered and it's really important because there's not that much play within the tarp six inches one way will expose the carabiner tarp on the other end so you guys make sure you spend your time you know kind of getting it really centered when you're going to getting it set up initially but it can be done it's not that difficult a little bit of practice you can really you know get it centered with minimal minimal time I really like the olive this is the olive color option it's really cool it's really muted it blends into these woods which a lot of the gear I like I like it to be muted and earth tone colors that way it doesn't stand out I know that's you know a couple different philosophies on colors and the woods on your gear bright colors you can you know be seen if you need to but I always like mine earth tone and muted colors since I'm here I'm going to touch on the cordage this is not the best cordage initially I was pretty happy with it when I saw it once I started using I liked it I don't know exactly what this is but over time and I've been using it I did not like it I don't like it and I've replaced some paracord where it can be I've noticed like some of this outer casing of the of the nylon I'm assuming this is nylon don't quote me on that we'll come open and then the insides will sort of bubble out which is not a good thing and I haven't had this room you know

less than a year and for the quarters to be acting that way is not a good thing at all so paracord will I'm helping that where the paracord might cause an issue with part of the one link is the stakes down here because there is hole in the stake just going to take this out paracord won't fit through this hole that easy if at all so that's another thing to keep in mind you can go around the stake but there's no you know second part of the state coming off that would act as you know sort of a brace for your guideline if you're going to go around the stake so something to keep in mind this pair mean this quarters goes through it well paracord might not moving into the bug net it's really hanging directly over the hammock some other Sleep System hammock sleep systems you actually have a little bit of spacer bar to bring the bug net out away from the hammock that will act like this as opposed to through the bug net being directly on you and on the hammock now I've slept in this with using this bug net when the mosquitoes were out there trying to bite and even though my body was touching the hammock and the bug net was touching you know my my arm pressing through of my leg I never got bit through it but nonetheless when you first get in it it kind of feels claustrophobic because you don't have any spacer bars but nonetheless it still works and once you get in and kind of laying it for a little bit of time that feeling of being close to phurba kinda dissipates

and it was never an issue for me the straps really like these straps I've used different types of systems for suspending a hammock I have my own nylon webbing I just bought per foot this is the Atlas straps that are reinforced in the nylon so they don't stretch over as night go as night you know progresses you've been in it for hours at a time your body weight won't stretch these the only difference is between this and SI a different type of nylon or or cordage that will kinda stretch you definitely feel that in the comfort when I've had just my nylon webbing which I've used and my you know I never woke up with my butt on the ground there's definitely a different feel within the hammock as a something that will give and something that's very rigid comes down to preference that's for you to decide but the system with the loops on the Atlas strap make it very very easy and for a quick set up the hammock itself I really like it's very thin I'm going to call this sort of a three season Sleep System one because the tarp really isn't that big you can't really get a really enclosed if you want a hint winter camp with this you really can't you know and close yourself with as a larger tarp or a more specific winter can make a camping hammock tarp can do but nonetheless this is a nice tarp I really like it I've used it by itself like I said just just during the rain really easy quick setup like the line locks again I said is really nice you don't need a ridge line because it's just attached with one end here there's no Ridge line running underneath here you got attachment point here and it's going straight to the tree that's really nice you don't need to carry a long piece of cordage to get a ridgeline set up you can do it pretty quick on itself another sort of it's not a sort of issue with this tarp but to get this even buttoned up in batten down even that much stronger having another point of contact here with another guideline I'd be able to pull this tighter and get that much more secure and more tension over evenly across the surface of the tarp but I haven't had any issues but it's just the four guidelines and the two on the ridgeline so in all I really like the one link sleep system for reasons I mentioned that's modular I can you

sort of all the components by themselves to a degree I kind of touched on the tarp some issues I have the tarp not so much issues but some improvements on which can just be solved with buying or having a different tarp over over the hammock in the bug net any questions if you have an experience with the one link or some other hammock systems I know there's a whole bunch of other companies out there making sleep systems leave a comment let me know all that good stuff thanks for watching this is crick signing out with black outdoors later Turtles
