hey what's up Turtles Creek here black out outdoors

and today I'm going to be doing a video on this really cool product it's a life straw go and what this is actually has the LifeStraw filter which you've seen me potentially do a video on before the filter is inside of this drinking bottle is attached to the lid so it's a filtration and drinking system all in one I found this for about $34.95 on various websites online and I'm talking a little bit more about the specs and ins and outs of the product this is a 22 ounce plastic bottle bpa-free and as I mentioned before the filter is inside of this which is really really cool design and at the top here so it has this flip top bite valve drinking port pop that down to unscrew here's that lifestyle filter very very similar to the actual filter by itself that you might purchase but it's not quite the same because this will come out off of the cap of the bottle has two o-rings here or two sealing rings and that's basically all there is to it you pop it back in this can be used without the filter if you're going to use obviously potable drinking water or it can we can use to collect unsafe and murky and just really disgusting water all that can be filtered and handled with this system it's going to filter at a level at 0.2 microns

you can filter up to a thousand liters which is about 264 gallons and it will remove 99.99% of bacteria 99.9% of protozoa I really like the system as in general I would like it a little bit more potentially if this was a metal bottle it would just increase that much more capability of the system but with that being said in the price and you know being able to filter up to a thousand liters for this price super super cool and with lifestyle products every time you purchase something some of that money those proceeds are going to be going to help you know help children

in Africa get drinking water so now I'm going to fill up some water and just use it and get more of my impressions and you know thoughts about this cool product I chose this spot in the stream to get some water because when it's fast-moving and - it's just a really nice place to come down to the water's edge as a few things you got to keep in mind when you're collecting contaminated water that you want to make drink drinkable and one is what hand or what parts of your body are going to be touching the contaminated water I'm using my right hand to fill this up I'm keeping everything clean with my left hand put this in put this in screw this back with my left hand I don't want to touch any part of the bottle with my right hand or anything that's going to come contaminate it with that water now I just fill it up and take some sips talk some more about it hmm hmm good every time now as I was mentioning down to water my left hand I designate is my clean hand because my right hand was touching the bottle was in the contaminated water so anytime I'm touching the top of it or the mouthpiece I use my left hand to open this up I think I said it features that bite valve and the first time you use this you're going to have to take some you know hard pulls on this to get water to come travel up into the filter and reach the point where it's going to be able to hit the drinking mouthpiece but after that it's not the really that bad of flow considering you're drinking through a filter

as you can see I tipped it up I tipped it up like this just drinking on it you know like you like you may want to do when you're trying to chug some water but obviously it's designed to be able to the water stays at the bottom because the filter the water is coming in the filter down here so it's meant to be held perpendicular to suck up now a few reasons why I like this like I said before the amount of water it will filter thousand liters 264 gallons it's great for this price really great the amount of filtration you're going to get again really great the fact that it's a filter and a drinking bottle all in one means it's packs really small it's really easy to travel with another great thing while I like about this product is if you're going to maybe a sketchy area or not even sketchy you're maybe just not used to the water the local water and you want to be able to even just get water out of the tap or the fall set you're not sure about if you can fill it up with this you know put it right in here good to go another thing I like about this now where we are in Pennsylvania you walk to any Valley

there's going to be water there's going to be water at a low-lying area there's a lot of feeder streams right now the water or the stream you just saw me get from that water it's all coming from Springs from high water tables on the valleys beside us it's all running down here so first of all I doesn't really need to filter it it's very clean Spring Mountain water second of all it tastes great regardless now this doesn't have iodine or anything like that to really really filter for taste and I can't comment how bad it's going to taste if you do take it from stagnant standing water but you'll be able to drink now but taste wise I can't comment on that right now the time this video maybe we'll do an update on when some really is really sketchy water sources both all these things being said and it's compact 22 fluid ounce you know bottle it's just a really cool piece of kit comes with this carabiner attached you know again strapped to a bottle your belt anything like that or your pack excuse me not your bottle slides around and you know so that's basically my impressions my thoughts using it and if you have anything to add about this you know ways you could use this or you know any other similar products like this that have a drinking you know you know drinking system with the filter integrated let me know I'm always looking for that let me know your thoughts on the video this product leave a comment remember check out blackout doors calm this video will be on there as well as YouTube and check out all the other social media sites run right now this is Creek signing out with blackout doors later Turtles you
