hey folks

well I know if you remember I showed you a very special knife not too long ago it was the Raven Bush knife still is very special to me but today I have another one that is special but I have one place I need to get to and hopefully I'll find it again but it froze again last night quite a bit if you can see my stump there that's fallen it's getting a little hack coal for the hands especially holding this aluminum type thing so hopefully I'll get to where I want to be and we'll talk some more okay so always have to keep in mind when things are frozen everything is more slippier can slip easily we all know about the would lure knife and Ray Mears and all that good stuff great design one of my favorite knives very popular since it was designed a lot of knife makers until today have made their own clones and for a good reason well it's because it's a good design I personally love it but now there's a legendary man called Moore's Cohan ski who has inspired another knife designed which is called the Skookum Bush tool again I I suppose the list is too long and I haven't seen any one make a clone of that knife as well I think it's about time that happens so being that the would lure came out of a well known guy as Ramires

which is by the way one of my favorite guys to watch or used to watch anyway a knife was born and everyone went crazy and I'm repeating myself it's for a good reason

now it's about time some other legend needs to receive some kind of credit for his own design that's mr. morris cohan ski so you guys from canada this knife should be interesting to you too so that's why I'm very happy that joe from black feather knives was bold enough to create that clone so that being said don't go too far that's the knife we are going to take a look at today all right so let's take a look at this special knife for me anyway coming that is a Skookum bush tool clone it's named the bush tool but this one is by black feather knives there she is yeah can't stop looking at her beautiful

of course there's too many reflections to see to give it justice with the camera but trust me it is beautiful alright quick specs for inner core inch blade four and a quarter inch handle oh one tool steel ironwood nice scandi vex one eighth of an inch thick spine beautiful point nice ricasso that I absolutely love right distance for me now this backplate here is just awesome now this thing what Joe done obviously it's welded it doesn't show at all which obviously would make this a solid backplate but you know that I would never do that unless I really have to see his beautiful mosaic pins now this kind of lanyard hole is not for a lanyard it's for lashing you know on a piece of stick but obviously I would not do that with this kind of knife but if I remember well the Skookum had two holes so that's where he got that idea I suppose look at that I mean beautiful now something that Joe did that was very touching horse in the know if you could see that but there are red liners okay you see them here there's even red liners behind the cap and he did that especially for me to represent the Canadian flag how cool is that awesome great now it's got a nice little drop point which is always good for piercing making holes and all that good stuff but if you notice here has got a continuous belly but just not too much not too little it's just perfect that will make this a wonderful slicer and this could become a great hunting knife as well you can use the belly the skin

yeah I know I'm looking at it too much right now I'm just loving the design okay so I guess I've said enough let's just play a little bit with this knife see how she goes it's nice that a knife looks great but we see also the importance of its functionality if it will work and I have no problem I'm sure it will so let's do this well it's nice being in the Sun once again thank you better to work in the Sun that get warmed up

well let me tell you the hard drink is very satisfying in cold weather or I should say cool weather all right so this is a gorgeous knife and the way it's shaped it goes well no hot spots anyway on the first try of course I didn't use it too much but I usually get the Nydia first off on the knife these are just first impressions the belly works great I mean it's just a great all-around knife

very well done Joe I need to point out one little thing and it's something that's very easy to fix and that's the scan defects I'll explain to you a little bit or my ten cents or two cents of what I think about scan divac's first off just put this here a Scandi grind the bevel you know start somewhere and goes flat right goes flat a convex well it goes a little bit out this way so what happens when you use scan defects the Scandi grind is pretty much useless because you have two angles on your bevel a scandi when in a truce candy when it's nice and flat we'll just slice like butter but because there's a convex slight convex edge I was I had to change my angle a little bit and go a little bit deeper so that way it bites a little too much and it's a little hard to control because of it so my little two cents all I do is I put a truce candy on this knife and I mean it would be awesome because all the rest is just perfect yeah okay so that being said I also want to thank Roland thank you sir if it wasn't for you none of this would have happened and Joe well you do amazing work amazing work what I'm gonna do if you're interested you can check out Joe at black feather sitcom anyway black feather knives I'm gonna put his website linked and he's also on Facebook he also makes other types of knives like he's got his own would lure clone which is called the Black lure I think and it's very popular as well so thanks again for your patience guys I remember enjoy the wilderness this is Mike from bushcraft bar

you
