well hope everyone's doing fine we have four days off and decided to rent a little cabin in the woods of course or our vacation so vacation cabin doesn't have any running water or electricity but that's what I want as long as it has a good wood stove in it whoo we were a hit oh by about three four storms within five days so plenty of snow I'm alone right now but Josie Josie is at the camp which is not too far now I guess got my stuff brought in because I didn't want to have to bring all this here with a sled and anyway this is gonna be a trip which I won't have to sleep on any cold ground which is a big plus and there won't be any surf in this trip what is surf well I just invented that for you guys s you are f survival food no survival food all good healthy food on this trip guys believe me you know like eggs and bacon and sausage and hot dogs and steak and beef jerky peanuts chocolate chips you name it that good stuff anyway they brought our stuff with a big sled and give you a little a shot here Oh Kevin is just there see that's right right over there

and we're right situated between two mountains

so it's gonna be a well-needed relaxing time four days three nights just gonna eat and sleep you know explore a bit there's lots of stuff to explore oh there she is oh I already see smoke coming out of the chimney it's kind of cute perfect size just came back from there another thing in this trip don't need to get gather and you would thank God all right it's not gonna see if there's anyone in here anyone in here oh hello there how you doing you have some room for a poor old frozen guy okay all right quick look you got the fire started so nice big fat table some of our stuff so do you have a nice slate nice big slate well that big machine that you came on it's cool all right so real fast don't want to bore you guys so there I'll pull windows one two three nice beams that's all you need

toil probably here this is a anyway he's a lot better than going outside and we shall be sleeping all right oh gosh used to love my pack on me yeah I know

yeah this is a view of that top choosie all right there you go we'll be sleeping here my nice mattress all right so well that's gonna be cool all right so that's enough of this inside stuff we're gonna get this guy heated up so we can get warmed up a bit put our stuff away and see what happens next so you guys want to come along on this little journey you're all invited don't go too far all right real quick because I know there's gonna be some questions and I want to avoid all the questions are necessary what carry right now is my Canadian patrol pack right this is not a review I mean if you're interested in learning a little more about this pack I have a video called bushcraft gear or something like that and I show a little bit more about this pack it's the same pack except its camel right so it's roughly an 80 liter pack it comes with two other pouches on both sides right one here one there but I didn't I didn't need them on this trip they're at home but they're still very useful because I store some stuffing I've got two other pouches one on this site that's packed in the back this and the other one on the top now I can put this one under whatever there's all kinds of ways you can do this but I always keep this I usually put my bedroll under here or one blanket right usually on this side I have my buck saw I didn't need my bucks on this trip because as you saw the wood is already there same size as my ax here this time I used it for my tripod so can you hear patrol pack that's what it looks like 80 liter bag very I just love it that and my account or two or the two loony packs I hope it comes in green and cowboy I believe so oh these two pouches here come on this one this one and make two great but packs so I mean there's a lot of things you can do with it a lot of webbing etc right now this pack here my wife

- also another cool pack sadly I have no name for it right it's another a 2-liter bag you got a top part here a nice coupons on both sides a nice big pouch in the middle and this bottom here is actually a part it's got a zipper and you can put something else inside so if I eat something

you know emergency your tarp whatever I don't need to do all this stuff to get to the bottom I just um do it here it's already there this pack has no name sorry about that it's made here at a surplus army store close to where I live they decided to start making some they just don't have one anymore but cold pack is very cheap will we pay for this 45 run Hey very cool so there you go that's goodness now we're gonna wait for that to heat up and I'm gonna relax and Josie did a great job starting the fire

you are becoming the fire master yep cool

all right so while we're waiting for the camp to heat up a bit I'll show you something that I saw coming in and it's something that you don't see very often concerning yellow birch I'll show you now for those of you who are used to seeing the yellow birch you know exactly what it looks like but in a lot of places it doesn't have the chance to grow big enough to show you how it becomes and that's what I'm going to show you now a typical yellow birch obviously it's full of it here right we all know what the yellow birch looks like I should right you have a birch there's one right beside right there one right in front of me you know that fluffy just hold on just to make sure you understand there okay we all remember what a yellow birch is okay now this yellow birch when it becomes very old like around I don't know 100 years old and more these trees actually become you know close to 300 years old and there's an old forest here we're gonna check together later on on this trip but anyways keep in mind what you just saw there's a lot of people that have never seen this and may have a hard time believing it but this is what it becomes when it becomes mature and old and loses its paper style bark and it becomes like this that's pretty rare see these trees still existing and where we are there's much bigger ones and I want to show you guys these later but there is the big big old birch I know if I could zoom that in if I don't fall probably won't have the light there it's your normal Birds well anyway anyway I thought that would be pretty cool but I don't see that often to show you guys what the yellow birch can really become once it's you know old almost looks like you know type of pine bark but anyway I thought that'd be a little plus for you I know I don't see those often and I'm sure a lot of people don't as well because they've been in the past they've been cut down so much you know that's ice all right I'm going back in the camp see you guys later

make sure I got no food in for tonight you won't have to get out tonight because it's too cold one stay nice and cold

all right guys just in case you're wondering on what we'll be sleeping on a cool little mattress it's about the size of a double bed so yeah self inflating you just block that in there and you just push on it takes a little while but once it's fully full of air that thing is almost 6 inches high and what's cool is under it is like your typical plastic so if you're in some kind of wet surface so won't affect it you know for some reason and the top is oh gosh feels like some type of a velvet so you don't always slide off of it it's pretty cool once this thing is this is the pump system you block this and you just you know it's not I have to fix this but you just pump it and fill this up of air and once that's done I'll show you what it looks like so for now you still need to go down here and anyway once it's done we'll be right back alright so we got her going now just show you how the pump works

let's take your time and this will fill up slowly and believe me you won't regret it sleep on this instead of this your typical Matt a lot better alright so she's done it took roughly like 15-20 minutes about it's a 15 20 minutes well spit if you don't sleep well

the rest of the day doesn't go too well so anyway and we even use this in our we have a tent it's a double tent for two people and this fits perfectly into it so all you need to do now is put your sleeping bags and that's it gosh I even wonder if this thing could probably float on the water yeah the rubber is actually made of tires recyclable recyclable tires so it's pretty tough anyway I know some of you guys were gonna be asking what we were sleeping on so there you go made by Broadstone for a double double bed type of deal besides give you an ID anyway okay how much three bucks sixty two hours all right my good friends as you know this is almost a law I need to show you our first good meal of the first night fried rice and some type of chicken that my wife Josie hello Josie marinated alright give you a little look rice chicken so this will be it for the first night so after this I have to tell you guys good night we'll see you tomorrow [Music]
