well good morning folks hope everyone's do

okay I'm doing pretty good I'm out in the woods it's a beautiful morning birds are singing fresh air good ask for better right now I thought that today we talked a little bit about not necessarily this pack remember a couple videos back I told you that I trade by Condor and I trade for something else for this this is a falcon - this is my current new day pack and well we talked a little bit about the cook kit bottle whatever you want to call them this side you know the stainless steel and the cup well I was needing a little wanting a little alcohol stove that wood could burn some wood and it could do the esbit tablets until the fuel tablets - but I don't really care about that and I decided to go with the Nano fire box though you know from Steve so we're going to take a look at that today now just a few things I done something different here you know this typical pouch normally goes that way like this as you got the attachments on this side but I thought that you know I was just poking - out this way and I didn't like it so what I done I took it off and I used some what do you call those things tack ties gum expedition anyway I have some at home and I decided to tie it from the side so this way it's not sticking out too much and it's still very accessible I'm using the compression straps to even keep it tighter against the pack and all I need to do is you know take this out and I can just

with it I've got other pouches that are coming from Maxpedition Wow it's not necessarily from expedition but there Maxpedition pouches one is for I think it's the fr one this is for the first state I want to try and get the first aid kit out of there and have it accessible easier and I have another pouch coming here I can't remember the name of it all this to try and you know get all the small stuff out of my pack that I usually you know bring with me so I can access them more easily without opening the pull pack and plus it gives me more place for bigger stuff you know so anyway this is not about this video is not about the pack it's about hold on just put these aside this guy right here take a look okay so this is the little stove and let me tell you that I love this little pouch that comes in some good quality leather see the fire box his logo pretty cool so let's take her out of there comes in the carbon felt pad here could be very useful grab things when they're too hot your fingers keep your stuff clean inside and you could use this as a windscreen for your stove okay so this is the stove itself it's obviously foldable I think it's three by three I'm not mistaken and if ever you're interested to know the length with the legs this way it looks like it's about maybe six inches so let's open her up take these guys out of there and put it on me later on anyway so of course I'm not on the flat surface okay there you go all right so what's cool about it you got these little legs here that can be adjustable if you want a smaller pot you bring them inside and you know the legs follow you under at the same time if you want if you have bigger pots or a bigger pan you just turn them exterior this way you can put a nice pen and this is stainless steel it's you know solid and at the same time the legs extend at the bottom so it gives you a very solid ground there what I'm gonna do I'm gonna start with you know alcohol stove I mean I got the Trangia I love it so that's my main thing Trangia stove I think it's better pronounced than Trangia come on mistaken this is made exactly to go in this nano and if you take a look at the distance from your stove and the top of your pot stand it's pretty much the perfect distance to get maximum heat now Steve thought of something else which is pretty cool you've got two slots both sides one there one here and the same on the other side if you take these little pieces here put a man which I find really cool you can take your Trangia and put it right there at the top and it sits perfectly now this way the distance is at a simmer point if you want to just you know simmer or whatever and at the same time if you do decide to use this one from your Trangia it's actually at the perfect height to be able to move your simmer ring at the top here okay if you take a look at the distance it's a perfect distance just to simmer now I wish I'd have all kinds of cameras to show you all kinds of angles but you're gonna have to trust me on this that's well thought of and also I think the Trangia has a type of Jetboil stove and this is made to actually work with it you pass the the fuel tube in here and the top the burner is gonna sit right there and fit the same as the Trangia nice and snug and then you can just put your your fuel bottle I think it sorry about that so what was I saying okay yeah if you guys use some fuel tablets I think Steve has an accessory that he puts a a very thin and flat piece right at the bottom here where you can put them but you know if worse comes to worse you could probably take your Trangia okay you take the o-ring rubber o-ring outside inside out you take it out put it there and you can make your tablet burn here if you want I don't know if it's gonna work or not but it's just an idea let's see what the distance would be it would be pretty close for probably be too close but anyway it's available now I'm not worried at all about the Trangia alcohol stove it's perfect autumn anxious is the the wood now I know it's small but I think it's gonna work great especially if you have some hardwoods you know have some nice hot fire that will last but just before we try her out he's got also the flame guard which comes in here I believe and what this does when you have your pot this way keeps the wind from hitting the flame and keeps the heat inside which is cool and you can use this fill if it's not too windy as a windshield as well so okay let's take the time now and test her as a wood stove okay so before we do get her going as you can see there's lots of holes for airflow really cool Steve made these two holes on both sides here and the idea was to be able to put in two sticks that way and two that way so they crisscross on each other to have the maximum oxygen and air flow to keep your fire hot which is a cool idea so I thought I'd share this with you I'll just give you a real quick look about it so far I'm loving it I like how compact it is and it's fairly lightweight I don't have the weight you can have to check on his website or Steve you're watching maybe you can put the weight there it's a cool little stove okay now let's see how she performs

which I have no worries about all right so that's what I like to have is a controlled fire especially in the summer and these little fire boxes do a great job you don't need to have a foot flame and by cutting little tiny pieces like this chunks it controls it and gives us just enough heat directly where it's supposed to go and well it's a blessing today it's not too windy so I don't need any windscreen and by the looks of this fire like that it shouldn't take too long so this is going to be efficient it didn't take much work I saw just three pieces like this round and I'm gonna have enough to boil me this full pot of coffee I'm pretty sure okay so she's just about done I can see little bubbles in there maybe a few more seconds

little tip okay there's still that lift that's pretty good as Steve's idea criss-crossing pieces as you can see this side is a little higher and this side is a little lower you know to create that gap so oxygen flow you know can go well if you use chunks like this don't wait til your fire goes down to low before you start adding because if you do you'll you know you'll smother it a little bit so to keep this hot as it goes down you add a little bit more a little bit more it's gonna fall into all kinds of places and create that same airflow and what's cool is that you know you can feed it from four sides like it now it's time for coffee all right so the coffee is ready and while I'm here I just want to show you what I meant you see I threw in the rest while I still had some good coals in there and you see how it just tumbled all over the place but still has some nice airflow around it and I know there's not a big flame right now but you know what there's a lot of heat coming out of there it's safe this way and we'll be I think more effective so just a little tip okay so what are my thoughts on the Nano firebox stove great I mean Steve everything is well thought of its small its lightweight compact you can use it with three different types of fuel and it's effective and then not a lot of work three little not even I could actually say two maybe three inches in diameter and about an inch thick that's all it took of course you got to start with you know smaller twigs once you have a nice bottom look at that I could probably boil almost another pot like this and I got some really good coals okay well anyway as usual I'll just put the link to Steve's website in the description of the video and thank you guys for watching and don't forget enjoy the wilderness this is Mike Linville shop bargains
