good day folks in this video we're going to briefly tell the tile you see up there knowledge weighs nothing what a powerful truth and I completely agree with that it's very very important to know stuff you know when you're out here when there's no gear around and that doesn't just apply in the woods it's everywhere on this planet no it is important so knowing that knowledge is very important you know know how to do things create with the materials around you when you have no gear is important what about the gear well I need to say that the gear is very important as well okay so knowing that knowledge is important and that gear is also important I would like to add to this well-known saying that knowledge weighs nothing but the right gear is worth its weight in gold now I'm not trying to destroy that powerful saying just want to add to it to make it more complete so at times I received some emails concerning beginners asking me what is the right gear and what should they choose so we're going to talk a little bit about that so before we get into the topic of choosing gear remember that knowledge is important even with gear because you can have all the best gear in the world but if you don't know knowledge how to use it it's not going to be worth much well the fall has got to be my not only me I know a lot of you guys my preferred time of the year beautiful colors nice fresh air bugs are gone bears are going to bed pretty soon and when you actually make a fire it feels good in the summer it's not that good ok so anyway coming back to choosing your gear as I've said before once in a while I'll get an email from someone who is asking me to how could I say it he'd like for me to choose some gear for him because he's beginning and I can understand that because it can't be overwhelming with all the gear around now but the problem with that is that i cannot choose for that person there's one thing that i can tell you guys if you are beginning that i will explain to you in this video is how I choose my gear and you can either you know take it or leave it it's totally up to you and the way I choose my gear is with one word practical ok so let me explain to you what i mean by this personal rule that i have for me personally in choosing the word practical you know i just want to share it with you guys now what kind of gear do i like first of all well i love a little bit of everything you know i love the old style canvas leather type gear I love some of the military I love some of the modern I mean I like a little bit of everything but we need to come to a point where we need to see what is really practical for us if I give you an example for me now I absolutely love those canvas type leather rucksacks you know those backpacks men they are beautiful they're rustic and that's my taste but they're not practical for me because they're too heavy if you take a look at the more modern backpacks which are also beautiful they're well designed a very lightweight that got beautiful colors but one problem with that one good branch in him and he just ripped them so that's not practical to me so what is I like to go with the denier stuff or what's that word in English corduroy anyway what I have like a Maxpedition or anything from Malcolm from the hidden his movement 500 denier now that is practical for me it's not the heaviest and it's not the lightest but it's very strong and I can carry it it's got its weight and goal for me if I give you another example I don't know some cook kits man there's tons of them they're stainless steel titanium anodized aluminum I mean there's tons of them if let's say a whole stainless steel cook kit is something that you have used a lot it's something that you enjoy using it's something that is effective for your needs it's practical don't look anywhere else it's good for you another good example is an X now an ax for me has its weight in gold where I am absolutely yes it's heavy but I wouldn't trade it for anything else obviously those living in the desert or the jungle it would not be practical for you guys so you know where I'm going with this it's the same thing for any type of gear it needs to be practical for me of course it needs to attract me you know it has to be nice but there is a limit of how far I can go with it the most important is practicality something else that has helped me because there's a lot of nice stuff out there and it can be very tempting but the wallet doesn't like it so I asked myself a question do I really need this trust me I've saved a lot of money with that

so

knowledge in gear why well because i believe they go together it's that simple now I do understand that in any emergency most of the time you will be without your gear right I know he still have your knowledge but sometimes your knowledge is with different is with stuff that are used or you're used to me and you're in another area but I believe there's a small percentage that you will end up very far away from any type of gear I give a sixty seventy percent that you will always have some type of access now I understand if you're in a plane you're in another country all all those things but logically speaking or common sense if you prepare you should be okay one place obviously is at home we all have our stuff if something happens small emergency lights go out especially in the winter whatever we should be prepared for that when you go in the woods obviously you should bring the gear that you're used to and that you know and that will be practical for you in the outdoors also I also have something prepared in the car I mean for those of us who do have cars we use them every day and they bring us pretty much everywhere we go so if something does happen we do have access to some type of gear if you don't have a car and you use the bus or taxi or whatever it is you use you can always carry a backpack but with practical items for where you live so there's a slight chance i believe that you'll end up in emergency you know where you have no gear at all it's like but it's still there I put a 60-40 or 70 30 okay so just you guys starting up just make sure you learn as much as you can you know your stuff you go in the woods and you actually do it until you become good at it with natural material and also bring some gear out do the same thing make sure you know how it works use it for a while I know you're gonna it's going to be time consuming okay I mean it with time and trial and error you're gonna figure out what is practical to you and what's not so I hope you enjoyed this little video just want to share this with you guys this is my pimple strap buttons you guys take care

even being out in the woods if you keep an eye open you can find some practical things
