over semi-permanent shelter if I could say it like that for today I'm done I still wanted to show you a little bit you know what's going on with this shelter now I just put a pad bedding like this this so I can sit down a little bit

I'll get my my pants sticky but this is a typical lean-to but with no trees now when you have no trees like this what you can do is just build yourself two tripods like this now I done here Josie can come I just put two supports a war on both sides the same way so I can put my other supports the other way like this now you could do it two ways you could put two big pieces like this and then do it like that from I rather have nice big pieces going all the way like this so tripod okay one support and both ends like this tying with our just going to mention a few things here when you tie with with ropes anything obviously this holds by friction now the rule of thumb is every time you go around the piece you know the two pieces to tie them together let's say four times I got four times you have to go around right like this twice every four times so it tightens like this and when you tie it the other way it'll tighten everything together and your friction will be strong now difference between this and your normal lead to shelter is that just a lean-to you got air pockets coming all over the place and I don't like that so with the tripod what you can do is I just done this to show you what's going to come I cover this in the front with poem and the back and this is going to be your all covered with boughs all right the same thing on the other side there and then you have your typical lean-to in the back I'm going to close it like the front both backs here so when they do sit down in the middle here and they have my nice fire in the middle in front of me I mean all the air the hot air that comes in will be captured a little bit more like bubble type no cold air is going to come anywhere from the sides or the back got one support at the top now this is a winter shelter all right guys that's why I chose under a tree because it saves me some work but in the summer time and it's a big no-no you know thunderstorms all that but in winter there's no problem but why I kept these branches here well this was going to extend my my roof with you want ok this natural extension so I can even make a fire here right in the middle in front and even if it does snow I mean I will be fine here so anyways this is just the beginning guys still have a lot of work to do but once it's done we're gonna keep you guys posted thanks for coming along now we'll make ourselves you know what fire and coffee hey you know what maybe we'll talk together again stay tuned

oh there you go promise to fire can't go in the woods without making a fire and at least a coffee and this guy is done he'll spend as much time as we can in the winter until we get four feet of snow but that's what it looks like be able to make ourselves some nice long fire is it warm Josie this is what yeah this is actually our second personal space it's not too far from the first one and I just want to show you a little bit made of clearing here and we've just got the creek right there now it's lower the creek is much lower and there's not many flash floods here but anyway the water is nearby water fire shelter oh one last thing I forgot to mention concerning the shelter when you build this type of shelter with the two tripods on both sides and you put these poles and you cover them the good thing that you can do and I didn't do it obviously is your poles for the bed you make them longer and it'll be a place to put your your backpack you know right now you know what I mean a place to put your backpack or whatever stuff you you're carrying with you instead of having put it you know on the ground obviously you can put it there too but anyway okay that's it for now well this this is a little creek it's by our campsite

those

over there and beautiful water and goes over there plenty of firewood around here and this is a little clearing my wife and I made there's a campsite right there well guys that's it for this video enjoyed it
