mama baby oh you'd be good my frying pan but okay so we are in our first hike it's a beautiful day praise the Lord it's a nice area I've been here before and look at that behind I have never seen a I mean it's normal that they done that because this is a whole swamp but it's a comfortable hike this time like I said we've been here before not with Josie I've been here with Billy I'll show you where we came here and we actually used his cedar bark canoe and dug out canoe and we went on this lake and we camped and we spent a couple of days here I'll show you that a little bit later but let me just give you a short view right now now I have my beautiful wife Josie with me of course hello right now we're looking for some Labrador tea and I know there's some here for tonight but just listen nothing ah peaceful and that's all swamp area so we can just like leave the trail and walk there because we could get stuck we don't want that but if we continue here well actually I'll wait till I get to the where I want to be and I'll open the camera okay folks use the Labrador tea nice young and fresh now them that's what it looks like turn it around get the hairs behind there now right now it's white more in the late summer and fall it will become a little bit yellowish but still very good but right now it's at its peak time and of course you want to pick the small leaves ah this is going to be good okay so now we're getting into even more wilderness now we won't see it yet but hopefully along the trail anyway we were way somewhere over there but there's a lake it's a fair sized lake but not much water on it so this is a bird sanctuary in reality it's just beautiful beautiful make sure if I can get the water a little bit here there it is we use this Lake because we were testing you know dugout canoe could be very flippy and we tested it also his gosh what do you call it I'm on brain brain cedar bark canoe but they both performed well okay let's keep on trekking here oh it's such a beautiful day hey here's some nice flowers in the wild ladies out there it's a purplish magenta who knows hmm nice I don't know what they are but okay so as you can see in this swampy like area the only trees growing are these white Caesars here just because they love water that's all cedar trees all of them not tons of them oh here's another beautiful flower

ladies this is just for you hmm can't see now these cameras don't give these things justice maybe I'm not in the right position here see anyways I know what it shows in the camera but it's purple and look at those veins here how cool that is now I'm not good with flowers I just know they're viewed okay so now we're off the wood board path yeah baby our really walking in the world Josie's with me behind she's got my six okay hopefully I want to go far enough on this Lake show you where me and Billy camped hopefully we shall see how far this trail goes okay so we're a little bit further and there you can see another part of the lake but the biggest part of the lake you won't see it so over there now where we camped I'm gonna get close enough or not or is it so urge mmm I think yeah it's right there

we found a place right oops see there than with in amongst the birch trees there I was the only place where there is not water in a decent flatland I guess we could say this is a great place if there's a place like that around your area it's a great area to practice your kayaking and canoeing skills especially if you're just starting there's not much water I mean enough to do kayaking and stuff but anyway beautiful water break it's hot we need to stay hydrated people Oh Cheers

it is absolutely fear oh there's ever but it's not lots of fake so I get a whole bunch Charles this one here three hard leaf yummy I'm out man

Oh helicopter

Josie's are looking for you you better hide and that camouflage white t-shirt I'm gonna pass right over our heads okay so well I have two beautiful white Cedars to show you now of course for this area these are pretty huge lawn they're long they're pretty big probably be able to make a canoe out of this one I am found a nice little Mountain water creek so we can refill our bottles what was that nice singing guys I will get that camera this filming business is hard work gosh and you guys are crooked to this yeah camera is a good mirror to do all right so now starts the 600 meter climb we have left to do for this little mountain and goose obviously hey okay so it's getting a little steep for Josie so she want a quick walking stick and everything is on the ground and so far is wet and disgusting so I got a small sapling growing right beside this big maple that is starting to die anyway yeah yeah uh-huh thanks you going to like it but a little long so we'll cut it another foot she's getting hot and steep so there this will help her

there you go Josie I got your walking stick aah oh no no oh this hi don't please join me try this house oh thank you wait sorry yeah okay what would maple oh okay you should help oh yeah you want me to smoothen the handle of it thank you the years about we're here yeah I'm just going to take the knocks off and leave the bark just because I don't going to be slippery leave some bark on and that should be good for it by this I didn't take all the way that's better yeah that's better okay let's do this so that stick working for you you're removing that little buggers really good and when it's wet you know it just gives me a grip instead of just my okay let's keep on climbing okay so seems like I was a little off so there were 600 meters left there's 10,000 meters left I mean from where we left where I said there was 600 now we have 500 left 500 meters but I see well there's no more tree so it's looking good but impossible to climb there so we have to go around that's what's taking long but we're almost there folks come on encourage us Thanks that's going to help ready okay okay we're almost there okay so you know when your heart beats so hard that you become deaf just like when you're hunting the big buck comes because I had done this there's a rope there on your right Josie if you need it

as I climb this stretch like pretty fast good cardio take your time why I want to see that face again I'll get closer one more time what's that supposed to mean you're doing good we're almost there

[Applause]

[Laughter]

well it's better if we you could cut directly to the chase and go bushwhacking I still quite a ways but nope yeah take courage sister you shall prevail but look what I found without even knowing it ouch get I hear okay what do you guys call this I'm afraid to say it so they laugh I don't laugh at me deal geo caching geo caching caching hey Josie can you open it up see what's in it it's just a like a pill bottle in camo align it first Oh logbook okay then I'll move I will camouflage tape there's maybe some top-secret stuff in there okay put it back as you might get killed quite job good job partner is this okay so we're at the top completely worth it

you know that sometimes you climb a little mountain and there's no views not good this time it's totally worth it so let me get into place and I shall show you Dada picture perfect yes put that on the what do you call those things calendar of 2018 of bushcraft bargains okay so that's the link we're showing you a little earlier now it goes way over there look how cool that is and get your closer now that's if I'm not mistaken that's Sugarloaf over there when we climb one winter and it was tough actually we thought we'd freeze to that to the top of that thing in January or something if no it's that there's a lot of sugar loaves mountains this is in Quebec it's not a big usual but it's pretty big so that worth it boys and girls yeah now we're going to have a nice relaxing break because we still have about 2.5 clicks to do so in all today we'd out about six kilometers not too bad for too old or older folks all right

okay so we're not that bad 2.5 kilometres in 45 minutes that's really good well for us anyway and half of the time we're climbing ha ha yep right any filly you can separate that's a good girl alright now we have to go back [Music]

okay I know if you remember in the previous one of the previous videos I showed the AKC American knife company and we took a look at the sheath and it was awful

so what I'd done for now is I had an old sheath from Eddie and was the dhoka and it fits almost perfectly and I wax this leather here to be able to tighten it around that's not moving from there just to give it more friction here and I'm going to use it as a neck knife for now I will still be looking for a belt knife but let me tell you this knife you know even for a full sized knife is very lightweight and Scandinavian leather sheath well they don't have thick leather so that is really not heavy around the neck so it's pretty much pretty much the lightest full full size knife that I can wear around my neck with any problems at all all right so as you can see I made some little designs in it ain't nothing special and I dyed it real quick with black and just put a a waxy protection and I'll be good so it should last me a little while anyway so it looks like I mean for a full size knife it's very comfortable really like this by the way this life is becoming on the top of my list of production knives really good alright so for supper the lanyard steak

and we already precooked some mushrooms and some onions in bata yes but what I'm going to do is don't follow that in here in our special marinated sauce if these tender pieces of steak [Music]

give that a good mix to get everything warm again blows it long two three whoa give you a little closer look at Kapaa you tell me what you think that looked good folks it certainly does from here with some vegetables of course [Music]

ooh okay so you guys see me your mugs are great for all kinds of stuff right let me tell you something they are the best I just came back from getting washed up a bit and they are the best made towel for the outdoors you can never get now we know all the functions they do so I use it mainly for that take a shower anything it wipes the water off very easy and because there's thin you just hang it and it dries very quickly so a little tip very lightweight to bring bring a big towel it's heavy and takes hours to dry good old shemagh does a trick

all right folks so this is about that time of the night just recalculate at 2.5 miles when I said 45 minutes was actually an hour because we were 15 minutes in that particular trail already when I started counting so it's still not too bad I'm not sure if this is going to be the end of this video if it's going to be a close camera deal I'm not sure if I'm going to open it again for the next few days so just in case if it's not I'm going to leave two links to videos at the end of this video you'll see them pretty soon there the Warriors are like that so the two videos one of them is going to be the one with Billy with his cedar bark canoe and dug out canoe when we went canoe camping on that Lake and the second one I'm going to leave remember I showed you sugar mount Sugarloaf Mountain that big mountain at the end

I know it's wintertime but it was a pretty hectic climb so I think it'd be pretty you know it's winter so how can I say

but I'm thinking you're going to enjoy it if you haven't seen it just to tell you a little story just before she sometimes I I do make mistakes and that time I did make a mistake and what I usually do at times I will look at a map and I will study it and try to remember it in here so I don't have to bring it not a good idea okay sometimes you're not going too far so it's not so bad but this time I should have brought it so I had a plan we had this big mountain to climb you know in the winter and it's cold it's January so we leave and we start climbing and finally we're at the top and I realize is that the right mountain and I see Sugarloaf Mountain so my mistake is I could have went just down around and then go up the right mountain but instead I went down and up another mountain so now we had to go back down that mountain and then climb the real mountain so it started to become pretty discouraging because it was cold and it was pretty steep and especially in winter time it's slippery it's you know you got winter clothes is heavy and all that good stuff and I could see in Josie's face that she was becoming really discouraged she even had you know a couple of times shed some tears so I said well you want to go back even in that harsh time where she was frozen very cold and it was still going up she said no let's continue so as we continue going up I was trying to encourage her and I saying okay it's not too far I could almost see it and after seeing that for 10 times started realizing that well it's not well she figured out I was trying to just encourage her so anyway once we got at the top we couldn't stay five minutes because it was so cold would have frozen like a popsicle so we had to come down from that top real quick and build a fire for real that time and warm ourselves up so anyway take a look I think you should enjoy it there's a lot of snow and again if I don't open up this camera if I mean if it says episode one well that means early probably a second if not well it'll be it for this time so I still hope you enjoyed this little hike and this little trip and we'll save the two other days for ourselves thanks again for joining us and it's time for lights out [Applause]

you

you

well it was a chilly night let me tell ya sleeping bags were okay but man we're in the middle of summer let's be below 10 degree Celsius before the 40's maybe 45 46 and it's not frozen but it needs fire trust me so today we're planning on another hike pretty good one too so again as I said last night I'm not too sure if I'm going to open the camera or not if we do we'll see you on the trail if not we'll again check those two videos it should be pretty exciting for you guys but I'm itchy no I'm not dirty cop didn't ah I got bitten yesterday mosquitos coffee is always good the nice beautiful warm fire no fire is so much better when you really need it if you want I mean ah well I know someone is going to be blessed when she gets up my wife Josie wake up - nice fire to get warmed up coffee ready man woman is blessed when she's in the woods let me tell you well all right you know I'm that kind of guy so what can I say [Applause]

hmm well good morning folks so I guess we're on another pretty good hike today another beautiful day now it's not going to be I'm not going to be showing much of anything today but at the end of this trail there supposed to be some you know pretty decent waterfall so I'll just open up the camera when we get there and that's where we'll have lunch and relax where's my wife you still have our walking stick yeah all right oh gosh you even decorated the thing good job

mostly a black forest black forest a black spruce forest mixed with some white spruce and a little bit of white birch or paper birch and you can't imagine all the chugga around here it's just ridiculous and down here nice green moss then goes way down there and the black flies are back out again get out of my ear yep awesome forest [Applause]

[Applause]

you guys hear that well if you can hear its water we are there let's go check it out okay so it's a good descent looks like we're in a valley see the other trees there anyway oh I can hear them but I can't see them yet anyway alright so don't see much of it

okay we got to figure out a way to go down

all right so camera close okay so what I showed you was the bottom of the falls there are many sections and we're at the top section right now well bottom of the top section

okay so let's try and go down without breaking your leg Oh

oh there's even a bridge up there look at that whoo totally worth it so I imagine that's the top of the falls that's why they build a bridge there

come down here and

drops right there and no I'm not going to go fillet there hi

Oh

okay so you know the sound of running water is as awesome and as comforting as the crackling of a campfire two important things so that's it pretty sure this video is long enough we have to go back now it's fun to explore but we need to go back so we're going to say first of all white she's somewhere around there Oh aha okay you guys take care [Applause]
