all right so we're going to start this miniseries I guess I decided to start this miniseries of you know showing some knives again I just want to tell you that these videos there's going to be Oh probably four of them in this miniseries and just want to let you guys know that these knives that I'm showing I'm not showing them because just to tell you that it's the best knife out there or that is a knife that you have to buy I mean there's just so many opinions so many types of knives out there and preference preferences excuse me and I respect that so it's not about that I'm just showing these knives because through the years people have been asking questions and it's coming back and coming back but now I'm going to have videos instead of having to answer the questions all the time I'll just send them to the video about the knife that they asked for right so today we're going to start with the pouco so don't go away all right the pouco a lot of people have you know know about these knives I personally just love them maybe a question do I like more of the modern stuff or traditional stuff well I love both of them but I can honestly tell you that I'm more into traditional stuff and again it's not everybody that likes that now the question or I should say I'll answer two questions concerning knives one of the first questions that is asked a lot is what would be my first knife what knife could I buy for my first knife and the second question which is a little different that people have been asking what knife could I you know just buy once that could last me a lifetime you know life long without being too expensive

well to answer the first question obviously a Mora is a perfect I mean you can't go wrong with the price and everybody knows that once you've you know learn how to not just use a knife but how to control a knife you know a tool is like any tool it could be it could be a good one but you got to learn how to control it how it works and you know even a more you can use a more all your life it all depends on you that if you want to switch to this after for something a little more traditional this knife is not much different from the more knife so it wouldn't take you too long to you know learn how to control this one as well and this knife to answer the second question would be a choice for something that's not too expensive and could last you all your life you know if you use this knife as a knife right let's just talk about the knife a little bit now pouco knives are you know some are made in Finland Sweden and I'm sure there's even makers in the States but they've been there for a long time I won't tell you the years that I'll probably be wrong but it's probably close to 300 years they've been making these knives and they're traditional they come differently all right I mean the the sheath could be different color different shape the knife itself can be different also concerning the material on the scales now you got Adler you have leather wood leather wood leather and answer well there's all kinds of I mean colors and shapes and now this one in particular is not the beaut beautiful of them all I have to agree to that there's some pretty nice PUCO knives out there but again the price range you can buy a Peugeot from 50 bucks right up to 150 maybe more it depends on what you want but generally it's the material that changes here

the blade is pretty much always the same it's carbon steel I don't know what type I know it's not oh one you know it's it's it's a lot softer but it still keeps a great edge now why do I like cuccos now this one here is about a four-inch blade and a four and a quarter inch handle what I like about the pocos okay one eight I can't forget about the spine two things first of all they're easy to control it's really fun to play with this knife and I think it's for one reason because of the high Scandi grind right the scanning grind is high and also it is easy and I mean very easy to sharpen I always you know I always love to sharpen sharpening knives for me just relaxes me but I don't wait until they're very dull and I have to make you know all kinds of different tasks to get it there most of the time it'll be just your typical strop maybe a little sandpaper if I have to go with a Japanese Waterstones I will but usually it's the strop the strop does it all if I don't let it become dull too much the strop now I'm out of subject again but anyway you know you don't need to pay for an expensive strop I've had this one for oh my goodness I don't know how many years it's just a leather belt you know I carved up a little piece of wood you've seen this before I should I need to make another one because this one's becoming but this is pretty much all I use and remember the one I was making for the field well I just decided to use another piece of wood because it wasn't thick enough for me and I got myself a nice piece of leather

time this works great I only used it twice but man when it's nice and rough like this and this one would be for the field to bring in my pack you know big difference from this one all right back to the knife ah I have to be honest with you guys the pouco is probably one of my favorite knives to use in the bush really this is something I just love to use because it's easy to use easy to control and as I said easy to sharpen and especially for the wintertime now in the wintertime I'm going to use this or my neck knife because I can put it you know arrange it so it's over my jacket because in the winter time we have lots of clothes we have long jackets it's always a little bit of a pain to get to your knife and you know I got this just a simple simple lanyard right one knot to the one knot in both ends cheap carabiner you know put it through the loop here just put it around like you wish that's all I do it's great for that or I'll use my neck knife anyways in the winter time again to be honest with you 80% of the time I will be using my axe anyway so rarely will I use a knife just for small tasks all right now the pouco what else am I missing okay a few things hold on be patient

I don't want this video to be too long now another question about the pouco is what people don't like will it strike a pharisee rod okay because of the powder coating on it now you don't want to take this powder coating off it's there for a reason

another thing about a buco for those of us that don't like to use a knife because we don't want to scratch it and you know what happens there's beautiful knives out there we don't want to use this one there's no problem the top is powder-coated and the rest well is your cutting edge so you know you can use it without being afraid to scratch it now because of the powder coating on the spine focus focus anyway a lot of pocos don't work for the pharisee rod

there's even pocos that even have a you know they cut out a piece of steel round enough just for the pharisee rope to fit but if you're 90 degree up here is well done you won't need to do that this will work anyway and I will prove it to you me a second here wanna burn anything works perfectly fine right now something else people will be asking where I got it and trying to remember everything so I don't have to have to answer all those questions you can get these oh my goodness

eBay is one of the places where you know like this one I purchase I've had several puch ozon in the past right and I've purchased them all on eBay and especially one it's called Nordica heat he's from Finland this is made in Finland the propose I had before you know I just I gave him a way again to people who didn't have knife but that's where you can get them and I'm sure there's other website websites you know on the states I don't know but this is from eBay again you can pay between 50 and 150 depends what you want from a knife all right I forgetting anything I guess that's pretty much it anyway if I'm forgetting anything and you got a question I will answer it you
