resin thinks something if it's available in your area something that is very very useful I'm talking about liquid resin that you can find right off the tree in finding typically two kinds of trees the balsam fir which is this one and also you will find it on the Douglas fir so balsam fir and Douglas fir that pretty much the two trees you'll find it now what you see on the on the bark our bubbles that stick out from the bark this is full of resin let me just zoom in a little bit for you guys see these bubbles bubble here that bubble there you see the tree right there - it's full full full of you can't see them all maybe in camera but it's full of bubbles and when you pierce this now the balsam fir guys if you ever you have a chance I can't explain everything but there we have a chance to you know google it study it that this resin has so many medicinal properties and values it's just almost out of this world the natives here used to call this tree the balsam fir the Tree of Life so there's a lot a lot of things you can do with this into it for sore throat coals asthma there's you know with drinking this with the tea there's just so many things but I want to concentrate on showing you this is a great tinder now I had an older video that I'd done before and I can't apply anymore so I decided to you know just redo it because I think it's something important so what I'm going to do is just pierce this it's lit everything I want to get everything out

I want to put a little bit on this rock here

we want to show you a few things about this resin that's pretty great this doesn't damage the tree so no worries

okay so I got a little bit in the tree let me get set up I'll show you something all right what did I put this the resin on a rock I just wanted to show you guys that just the resin itself can catch fire if you give it enough heat all right now this resin on these trees is pretty much always liquid obviously in the winter it gets a little thicker but it still works I mean it's going to take harder it's gonna take harder sparks because obviously the resin is colder and thicker so it's a little harder to catch but when it's like this

it catches usually fairly easy now only resonant slick liquid form will catch okay when it's in solid form it doesn't catch this way so it takes a little longer but it does work that's gonna burn until the resin is all gone that's something pretty neat they got a little bit of resin on this stick here

we need to know and to have this thing also has some great healing properties actually on the tree when it does if the tree gets damaged somehow the resin comes out to keep bacteria from going in and at the same time it heals from inside the wound of the tree so it could do the same thing for us you've got a wound you put this on top it's going to keep the bacteria out and kill whatever it's inside so knowing that this works this way there's nothing wrong with mixing this with any type of tinder you have around your place to get it going if you're having a hard time I'll give you an example okay resin there's nothing wrong with using it with something else now here I just scraped some bark off of the cedar I don't know for any type of reason maybe you're not able with a firesteel maybe it's a little bit damp wet you need to get a fire going again there's nothing wrong with mixing these two together this is not called cheating it's called survival whenever you're out there you need to do what you need to do to get things going so I just put a little bit of a resin on this side here because my let's say my cedar bark here is a little bit too dry starts right away nothing wrong with using that now let's use another example you got give me a second here

a birch bark their birch is wet for some reason it's in big pieces like that for some reason you can't get going put a little bit of resin and let's see don't catch on fire there though trying to look at the camera at the same time make sure I'm doing this right just taking their time aiming a little bit of sparks that you need to where you have to is the key to starting a fire even though you make all these big Sparks and you try and do it the first time this concentration where you're doing it and you're going to start your fires a lot faster so guys just a little tip resin if you have some this is a good natural till tinder and it's also good for all kinds of stuff just google it up and it's it's really incredible so appreciate your support thanks for watching
