the more time goes by the more of discovering Canadian knife makers now the UK United States and the all whole bunch of other plays have great night bakers in Canada there's not tons of them now we know about xxx and diving sparrow and I'm discovering some new ones and discovering some older ones have been doing it for 30 years now and same discovery I'm not discovering this happens that we just meet the social media and anyway I'm gonna show you one of them today it's purchased knives Sam he's Canadian he's only 21 years old he's been doing knives for only six months let me tell ya looks like he's got 20 years experience

now we're gonna be taking a look at other makers throughout the year but for today take a look at Sam's knife so let's do that right now so here she is now before we take a quick look at this knife you know what amazes me and I think our supposed to be a knife maker right but nowadays a lot of knife makers make their own sheath fair rods I mean that's just incredible that's multi-talent it's hard enough to make just a knife it's hard enough just to make a leather sheath or Kydex whichever people prefer in this case he made a Kydex sheath but you know what my hat's off to you guys out there that take all that time to make the knife the sheath and even some fair rods right on okay let's take a look okay so there it is he calls it the drop point you Tillis now Sam has two other models if you're interested to check that out also really cool Kydex sheath dangler got your fare rod here it's made the same wood as the knife handle

the liner right there I mean his work is you know six months come on

some people are just born with this let's take a look at the knife it's got a good retention okay all right so this is the drop point you tell us let me tell you that there is this knife is flawless

I don't think I've ever seen a knife as flawless as that as this one it's just incredible he really takes time every little tiny detail I mean it's really amazing it's not a big knife the blade is about three and a quarter inches 1/8 thick and overall of uh you know almost 8 inches it's your Scandi grind about 1/8 ricasso which is my preference gives you as you know as much cutting edge as possible but at the same time you can still sharpen it it's very sharp 90 degrees spine very sharp look at the fire work on this amazing just simply amazing I can't stop looking at it too pretty to use but will still use it now the wood I chose is gosh what is it again black quilted it's stabilized black quilted maple now of course the camera never gives a justice but it's a beautiful wood beautiful just an amazing color and I don't want to go in the Sun because the Sun gives too many reflection so we can't see the knife really but anyway really nice wood and for those of you who don't know what stabilise means well I'm not a hundred percent sure but I think they dumped it in some kind of resin and kind of I know if they put it in a pressure tank you know to make sure that the resin resin goes through the wood completely now this makes this completely waterproof so forget about being afraid of taking this out in the rain and seeing your wood swell and crack and all that good stuff this is forever I'll give you another now if you take a close look look at that I've never seen that have you what a great idea lanyard hole hold on here and he does those himself mosaic pins the same thing he does all that no I don't know if you can see that no you can't okay there you go cuz there's gold in there and there was gold also in me there you go how beautiful that is and let me tell you it's flawless fine I mean flawless there's not one place that I can say that everything's perfect what a great looking knife let me tell you I'm still in awe but he's been doing this just for six months and he's 21 years old well good for you Sam good for you look at that okay I got to stop looking at it it's got liners obviously here you now look at the shape of the handle pretty cool

very comfortable its palms well here nice area to put your two last fingers super great okay so I know it's pretty probably too pretty to use but we're still going to play around with it and see how she feels or how it feels I don't know why I name everything sheet but let's call it it alright the way I forgot to mention it's an old one tool steel just give it a little test on Greenwood here

this is a piece of birch hardwood oh wow I don't know three quarters of an inch diameter

well most problem in slicing this for sure

answer these bigger dots here alright let's try something else and our Greenwood is pretty simple still slice is good dry wood just getting a feel of it and the push cut usually gives you the pretty good feel when you do it long enough to see if it's going to tire your hand anywhere so far it's not of course this is not a big heavy knife it's a very lightweight I'd almost call this a whittler but you could use it for bigger stuff for sure I mean it's almost almost gonna pour into plate okay

good

give it a little easy turning test now this piece of wood is so twisted while it was hard to talk it's not don't Bataan much but sometimes to really test the heat-treat quick giving a few hints okay

unstable growl don't do this at home yes

goes pretty good if I do say so myself well I got her a little bit dirty performs well and she's a beauty well done Sam all right so anyway it just amazes me how these young men just come out like that create something like this in no time

why would I do is I'm gonna you know Sam has a couple of links like he's got a website Instagram and Facebook so I'm gonna leave the links in the description and you know what guys take a look going to the website say hello take a look at his other models encourage him a little bit you know we have to be there for those young men especially in our domain like I said there will be others they'll be coming during the year I just love to promote these young men especially when they have a lot of talent like that you don't want that let that go to waste okay so thanks again for watching I know this is not a big review but it's enough to know that it's a good night you guys take care of this is my finish car park
