are you ready yep all right let's do this all right guys just a little tip on some nice dry tinder now the beech tree is a good resource in the its leaves because they stay there all winter long so if you happen to fall upon that especially in the wintertime where thing is humid and went this is great stuff also it's pretty dry because it's not on the ground so this started let you guys know if you didn't know this

pulling the nice rock here a little bit of work of course wintertime is always more work but it's fun gonna use this rock as a natural heat reflector when you do find a rock like this in the wintertime obviously you're gonna find some snow all over the rock and because it rained this winter you got to find some ice so when you do make your fire don't make it too close to the rock because two things it'll happen it's gonna melt and fall on your fire so keep a distance I don't know I usually keep a distance of about a foot so if water does melt it's going to go around my fire and stay away from it obviously try and go as low as you can and I'm going to make myself a nice platform big enough to make my far and keep it safe all right so so far but we have as I set up this rock as a heat reflector you dope the snow as much as we could some work there made a little base and right beside it here in front of it is a tarp or they call it the all-weather blanket it's got the shiny spot in this side which will send back the heat on us here once I get this fire going here now a little tip when you're installing a tarp in the winter and you got pretty much nothing yeah of course you can use the trees for the top the bottom obviously you have a lot of snow you won't have to dig right to the end because the ground is frozen and even if you do try a stick of this loose snow it won't stick so one thing you could do is get yourself a dead pole and put it horizontally and you want to keep some branches on it like here to keep it anchored you know this way right keep a few of them we got some at the end here you can't see them and they got some at the other end and then all I need to do is you know tie your tarp on it securely that's one way we're in the wintertime I used so it doesn't move so so far that's what we got Josie's collecting some okay so now we got to get some firewood keep you guys posted

it's a pretty cool setup you can have our mate

nice and warm in here nice fire reflecting the heat keeping the smoke away this tarp is reflecting the heat back to us the only thing we need to worry about my cheeks are toasty nice and comfortable people very nice now I didn't put the pot right under the fire because I don't want to burn the food all right I know some of you want to know what's in the pot well it's just a mmm yummy stew that's gonna be good not quite warm enough yet though it's coming slowly actually it's pretty warm in here I should have checked the thermometer just to keep you guys posted on that way it's really comfortable we're gonna wait for this water to boil up for us have a coffee and we'll talk for a minute get in there another ten minutes well

that pot cooks pretty good food as well oh yeah I'll do the trick well that's about it for this video guys thanks for watching
