okay so the withers dramatically changed I guess winters here time to get into the woods

all right folks right the campsite of the wind out of the snow well anyway part of it still holding on until a big snowfall comes but everything's still there and God II remember I have a tarp and under that is a bed of boughs so I'm all I need to do is take that off and sit on a boughs I will see fire pit stacked wood is all they're looking on so bad so far now the only the biggest problem I see is not just the snow but when there's a big snow snowstorm and a lot of snowfall it accumulates on the branches and then when it's too heavy you know what happens boom but like I said if anything does happen I'll just take this blue tarp off and just keep this lean-to right here that stops there for now okay time to get a fire going I guess ah snow clears easy enough I can hear the two big trees cracking right now

all right so now that my fire is well established I'm going to get some water I'm very happy already I've prepared some wood so a lot less work I know I might take this this tarp off I'm afraid of it in the big snow it's really going to fall anyway so I want to think about it so let's go down to the creek I always put the stuff away I don't need right away because knowing me I'm going to lose it good we give you a little look like that the snow just wipes off and believe it or not the heat of the fire is warming up the bed I can feel the warm is good it's going to make sure you take the snow off because you can have water on your tarp anyway just want to say a few words about military gear of course military gear is uh most of us love it tend to be shop at our army surplus store I know most of you do I certainly do this year I was pretty fortunate I was able to find these Canadian military gore-tex and leather gloves which are very rare in my neck of the woods the only little problem is that they're a little small but not so bad I guess no stretch but I like it

I love it and they cost about oh I think 25 bucks

and these things are practically new you got the gore-tex here see that practically new so that's really cool also something else that a lot of you probably notice a lot of surplus army surplus stores are doing is that they're creating their own clothes by copying you know the military clothing has already exists so I got this jacket now I don't know from I know they copied it from a Canadian military type jacket but I can't remember which one this is not the parka okay it's not long and it has velcro pockets and all that very good zipper but this is what they reproduced close to where I live and 30 bucks it's brand-new so I mean especially with what we do it's always being close to the fire right the embers embers embers you don't want to wear a $500 jacket that will just sew 30 bucks I find that pretty cool I like that that's why I like shopping there so right now I've got I've got a fleece under here I've got the wool honey and I've got this as a wind cover yes it's pretty warm but I mean alone and like minus 10 minus 20 Celsius it wouldn't be enough it has a oversized hood you show you a little closer look at the zippers on these things with that nice steel zippers velcro pockets only has two pockets I wish it would have one here but it has a side pocket like this warm up your hands fat I mean 30 bucks guys new brand-new nobody else wore that so if you're new to go into the woods and you have a a budget that's not too high go to your army surplus store and even if it's not new I mean it's been tried tested it's good clothes to come out here we all know that but you know sometimes I get a lot of questions about clothes and I don't always answer because there's no answer there's just so much clothes out there but basically I'm going to wear military stuff out here I've always done that just because of the price comfort it works it's warm and even though I have an ember on and becomes a little bit black who cares right now I have to be careful with these gloves because that's not made you know just to travel so I always have a pair of leather gloves when I work around

the campfire yep pretty cool so anyway check your military surplus store near home if you're new to this and you're going to find some pretty cool stuff ask around what's best in your area of course if you're in the desert you're not going to need this but I absolutely love it and I'm not a big fan of parkas I go right down to the knees That's not me so this one was perfect because look at the height just a little bit lower than the waist now don't ask me what brand or anything like that I have no idea there is two left of these where I live anyway yep so anyway check out your surplus army stores now again I know that there's a lot of people that know about this already but I got new subscribers and they've been asking what's the coffee I use just your simple Nescafe tea three and one and there's other companies who that do it I know it's not the high-class e coffee that you drink at home but out here look that's all I need to do get this water boiling and I'm done see I always put the coffee in the cold water right away so as it boils the water it mixes it it mixes okay wait a minute look that it mixes the coffee on its own so I just have to take it out and drink it and of course burn myself at the same time so

it is now time I have to put her over the fire folks so try and keep the handles out of the fire if you can I know it's not completely impossible but it's best when it's time to drink so I'm just fooling around here testing my grind and it's working well this is the member my one of my videos with the custom yellow hawk custom sheet that I had I didn't show the knife but this is a thing it's a BHK Highlander I got this on the trade I love the knife this came with a full flat but for some reason this full flat was I don't know I couldn't use it it was way too steep I mean see the angle there it was about I'd say almost 35 degrees it was unusable this life and I don't know why what happened with that but so I repro filed it I brought it down I took off the full flat and I brought down to 25 and just convex the edge just a little bit now if you'll be able to see that just convex the edge a little bit took off that shoulder brought down a bit and convex and she's working pretty good my angle because I'm doing this not just to see the curl but I'm checking my angle this way of course I've got no way of really determining determining what angle I brought it but by the looks of it right say 20 25 anyway you can't see it from there but I said it before it doesn't matter really what knife you have but to me the most important of course the blade the steel the handle the grind all personal preferences but it needs to slice okay if I need to take away see some chunks of wood or whatever reason that needs to come off and I need to enjoy it if I'm struggling like this to try and get a piece off I don't care if the knife is a thousand dollars it's good I'm going to work on it or I'm going to trade it or throw in the garbage I don't know but it's useless to me doesn't matter if its twenty dollar knife or 200 dollar knife so that's why I brought this one down because it was way way way too steep for my personal taste anyway but now yeah

25 max so I'm just going to continue playing with this this is a pretty expensive knife thing it's 200 US bucks Highlander from BHK it's beautiful this is the all-black version I think it's smart cut micarta I add this lanyard I felt like playing around with it I don't usually put lanyards but I did it's a good knife I like it 5-inch blade I'm usually a 4 inch I see the difference when I use it because it tends to want to go this way because of the inch more but that's ok I just wanted to especially see the the angle that I put on it oh yeah and she cuts very well oh one tool steel okay I think I'm smelling coffee rolling boil folks back in here oh yeah I want to be good boy am i relaxed right now I almost feel like snoozing I'm covered

it's just when gust of wind gets through the trees I'll be a little bit of snow coming in but I think I might try it a little later I may not sleep for two hours but you know sometimes just 15 minutes is fine awesome

yeah definitely going to try and smooth it's not stopping I'm hoping it's going to stop because I mean I'm protected by the wind here the one I have to have to stay but hopefully I won't get stuck when I get out later tonight this was not planned it's supposed to be a nice sunny day weather men ladies thank you very much

well the weather is not getting any better folks

I'm a little tired and I just want to try and snooze a bit when is northeast so there's still a little bit of snow coming in but back not enough I think to kill me Oh

well that feels good on the back now I sift myself up because obviously when you're not moving you're not creating as much heat so your body is going to go down body temperature so if I do snooze the cold they'll probably wake me up but I have a nice fire going right now so I'm still thinking about the snow it's not that I'm very far from the car but the car is very far from the main road and where I am is in the mountains and over here well you know our mountains work where I live there's not as much snow as where I am right now so decisions decisions because I'm comfortable right now I can hear that wind

anyway I think I'm going to try and snooze anyway

anyway let me just show you from my view now this tarp I think I'm going to leave it and it's an old tarp it's got holes there where it's been used so much I know with a lot of snow it's going to accumulate there from the bottom and it's going to climb up it's going to rip right there anyway if it does rip I'll just take care of it and I still have a nice lean-to right there which that won't be a problem and I'll just leave the rack so I've got a nice fire there going I can feel it so it seems like I'm talking a lot in this video but anyway that's okay I guess you can push forward again the new people that are starting camping and all that and in the winter time a lot of people are afraid to go to sleep when it's cold well there's no danger like right now this is a great example I'm not cold okay I'm perfectly fine if I go to sleep if my body temperature does go lower it's going to wake me up then I warm myself up again there's no problem it's if you go to bed to sleep cope because of the cold you're following a sleep that's where the danger is and if you're no help well you won't wake up so there's a difference there

alright so I've taken a decision I'm going to leave because this has been going on for since this morning and I've been here for at least three hours hasn't stopped so there's going to be a pretty good accumulation I know of snow I love the woods I love my fire I wish I was planning on staying here part of the night but I don't want to be stuck here especially when it's dark and there's a storm going on so that being said it's too bad I got a beautiful fire going on I'm going to put this out and I want to say thank you it's been a while since I've said thank you you guys are two simply amazing
