alright guys show you how you can sharpen your cook knife spoon knife or lon aim toward when you're in the bush or even at home actually I do at home like this anyway this is a Remora can't remember the number but anyway you've seen this before now the tip is so pointy what I'd done is the tip is like pretty much just a tip it's pretty much a little bit useless so I just grinded it down a little bit so it's flat so you know yes this could be dangerous anyway how to sharpen it in the field what I've done is I this tape is useless now but anyway got myself two pieces of wood one that I carved here that's about Oh roughly an inch wide half an inch thick and I know maybe eight inches long and the around one which is about half an inch in diameter and it's about seven inches of about seven inches I'll use these to sandpaper now this is 180 obviously one silicon carbide for metal you can use a tape to tape it up but I decided to stop taping it because doesn't seem to stick anyways you just roll it up on your piece of wood and this flat one is going to be for the outside you're going to be sharpening both sides of the best blade okay so what you want to do first is just lay it down that's what I'm that's what I do anyway right flat right where the tip turns like this and sorry about the black flies this time of year is we have no choice and you want to gently just push away okay and you want to hit just the bevel as much as you can keep the same angle now you can use a finer grit after this if you wish I find I don't need to after that of course in the bush I won't do it but you strop it and you'll be fine but in the bush that's all I use right now now when you get into the first round part you don't want to keep on going flat you want to go circular motion follow the blade because you don't want to flatten any areas there and if you're not sure about the angle that you're the middle that you're taking off just use the old felt pen trick and mark down your bevel and once all the felt is gone you know the ink that means you're doing it right so you go round this obviously at home it goes a lot better now to do the other side I'll just use my other hand and do the tip

cheap way of doing it I find it works better than any stone anyway I was doing it a little bit with my water stone but you know it's just too many curves in this thing all right once this is done want to use the round one do the same thing

this time you're going to go inside you just on the outside this way you turn your cook knife the other way so the point is upward and you're going to do the inside the same way on the flat area you go flat gently and when you get on to the round part you want to do the same thing as the exterior you don't want to go flat you when I round it off doesn't need much sharpening this to come sharp pretty fast spin then I just you can do whatever way you want there just turn around gently do the tip now after this at home which would be pretty important I just drop it I'd have my normal strop the flat one and do the same thing on the exterior and you get yourself a round piece and you stick yourself a piece of letter letter the looper leather and you do the same thing inside you go around like this just drop it nice

and this is sharp boys and girls oh yes don't have a piece of wood I got this here but

anyway

oh yeah

hoarseness is not the best bites in good no problem

anyway just a quick just a quick way of doing this that's all thought I'd share this with you because I was always trying to figure out if this way to sharpen this and I saw some guy do it a little different than this but pretty similar okay i'm going to give it a try and it works fine and you know what its cheek two pieces of wood your car one piece of sandpaper you cut into and you're all set all we need is a strop and it's done so i hope you guys learned something thanks for watching

love

after some work guys okay to rest one thing about being in the bush it's hot

out there it's only four to 11 and it's maybe it's over 30 right now but when you can find yourself a nice shady place along the river it's cool and nice just gotta love nature right this going to hold this boat these guys are going to laugh Whooper ready right guys

this is a Scout hammock from DD hammock I way on an 85 between us to 315 pounds works good
