well I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this is a very unusual video for me to make and please forgive me if your look if you thought this was a review of the g-shock it's not I just wanted to well first of all I'm not talented enough and then technically enabled to do this review there's tons of reviews out there if you're interested this is not about that I just wanted to show off you know a little bit of a Christmas gift that I received from me haha

it's this guy here now first let me show you this one now I've always been a Timex kind of a guy because you know they always work for me this is my recent one well recent one have had this one for a year it's still a cool watch I like it most of my problems with watches is the bracelet they always tear off on me and they don't hold but this this guy is he still a keeper still have has the same battery I'm just going to maybe make a paracord bracelet out of it I don't know but I will keep this one now before getting into showing you this one this is the other one that I have it's a two-year old watch it's a Timex it's an expedition something I don't know now the problem with this watch for me because I'm not smart I'm part of that kiss group it's got too many things and I don't understand them and it's just too much for me I don't even know if they work well this watch has the you know the temperature the high end low tide

compass know all that stuff just not for me I just maybe I don't understand how it works or maybe it just doesn't work but let me just show you a little bit I'll try and zoom in so I don't get that glare from the camera right now I believe this one here is the compass I mean everything works on it I'm not sure if it really does work I know it needs to be calibrated and I'm just not talented enough or I just don't feel like doing it I think this one here is high tide and low tide wait a minute bring it back this one here okay that's a temperature as you see well I went to I'm really clumsy with this and it's just too much for me that's high tide low tide anyway I don't know if these things work it keeps the time it works well it's been I've had it for two years it's a cool looking watch I still you know like the looks of it a very comfortable handle it's got a moving bezel on it you know if you want to take your rating here's your arrow travel or ever you want to call it the problem is is it's too gadgety for me now to me because I probably don't know how to make it work it doesn't work you know if I like right now if I push if that is the compass it's pointing the right way this time anyway one thing the light does not work on it I sent it to the company because the were the light didn't work long they send me a new one and it done the same thing so I was fed up and I put it in that drawer and it would spin there for a year then I took it out you know maybe a month ago I said maybe it's the battery that's weak so I put two brand new batteries in it and it still doesn't work so I said okay this one was going to be retired now because it's not a good watch just that it's not for me so I've been looking a quite a long time to get me the watch that would work for me and I found this one now the number I'll put it on the on the title of the video why this one I mean there's tons of g-shock you know I wanted to change from Timex so I went to D shop

I want something rugged and tough you know you guys know when we're in the bush we don't always take care of these things so first of all I wanted a good rough and tough bracelet here that would hold on

and also the watch I wanted something simple to read the time the date and the day also I want something atomic you know it takes it's reading I don't need to change the time or all that good stuff it does it on its own also it's solar don't have to worry about batteries

they say that you could be ten months in the dark this you know it would last ten months without having to be recharged so that's cool so that's the main main reason why I got this g-shock and it's not too bulky I'll put on my wrists in a second they're like some G shocks I mean it's nice bulky ones but it's not for me it's just a perfect size again it's not a review I'm not telling you what size it is just you know look it up there's great reviews out there if you're interested in something like this now the main video was about this thing here called a watch and this button compass or they call it the clipper compass or Sun - or Sun toe I mean clipper I had this laying around somewhere and I said hey why not have a watch that keeps the time don't have to put batteries it's rough and tough why not add a good compass to it now and all the button compasses that I've owned or had they always give up on me you know they start bubbling this one is a little bit more expensive but it really does the job and of course what's cool about this one compared to your typical button compass it has a moving bezel also and an arrow of travel so compared to the normal or typical button compass this will at least give you you know you can at least take your bearing excuse me and walk in a straight line you know without a map in general if I give you a little example you're on the Ridge Ridge somewhere and you have a general you know where you should be going but going down the ridge you'll be in the bush and you can't see any more so you'll probably go in circles and maybe get lost so you need a bearing you need a place where you can locate yourself so maybe from that Ridge you see a mountain range you know type saddle type of thing or a river or a lake anyway

a general direction where you should be heading once you're in the bush so all you need to do okay let's say we want to go I got this in front of me and I want to point it I point it right towards there's a big lake here okay maybe five ten miles I don't know right there so all I need to do while this is pointing there is to bring my little let me get this closer so you see it better

zoom in you want to get that little end right let me do this so it works the North arrow you want to bring it to I mean you want to bring the north to the North arrow here on the bezel so all I need to do is hold on there on the camera it's not simple okay I shouldn't be doing it like that

you should be keeping this towards your direction remove it okay so now I got my bearing so I travel an hour down in the woods and all of a sudden I need to take 15 minutes later I need to take another check and see if I'm going the right way this is in front of me that's the way I'm going right now I check it it oh I'm off this is my arrow direction here now we know behind the scenes we have to be going that way but what you need to do is bring this North arrow back to your north here on the bezel so you turn it and boom then you continue that way so anyway you know it's a little bit more quality a little bit more expensive than your typical button compass but it's just great so I tried all kinds of positions on this watch and the best way that I found was on this side here right at the top and with the nice side here that way going like this so let me just put it in try and do it this you know can clip on pretty much anything a map make sure that it's now this bracelet is a little thick it doesn't completely close but it's insecure because of the there's uh gaps here anyway

it's secure there so I decided to put it there for a couple of reasons let me put this on me zoom out here fine

okay all right so so this is what it looks like it's not too bulky I'm not a big guy so it looks you know just fine on my wrist anyway my wrist size what's my wrist size paracord brillar bracelet is about and I was seven and a half to eight inches give or take you know in circumference give you an idea so I try that most people put it here but the problem with that for me is I always I made tests with the wrist action and most of the time you know the wrist whatever work or whatever you do it will go this way now doing that because it has points here now what you could do if this bothers you you can melt them down a bit or because it comes with a little of a cutting edge I just sanded it down so they came you know a little round but putting it here would bother me a lot more than putting it straight on the bone here this way I don't move that like that much you know the wrist is not that great for that so anyway and also it's if I do need it I just have to turn around like this the compass and point my direction they need to go bring the north with the north and I don't have to take the watch off so that's what I got alright now the battery is just about to die and what I'm going to do is change the battery I'll be right back because I'm thinking of something else hold on alright so I'm back sorry about that alright now I was thinking of something that this one I'm going to keep just because I like it it's simple just put a pair of cord bracelet as I said I was thinking of something to do with this one

I'm to be honest I'm a little bit hesitant but because it's still it's a very nice-looking watch you know I'm saying let me zoom this in don't get the glare and it works fine but I'm the kind of guy and doesn't matter what I have that doesn't matter what quality I have it's just me even if it's a beautiful knife if I know I'm not going to use it and I leave it in the drawer somewhere it'll never be used and this will be wasted so I was thinking we'll see if it works or not if not I'll just keep it if any of you be interested in it now this is a two hundred dollar watch it's two years old now of course I'm not asking to in a dollars for it because I'm not even sure if this thing works well it probably does it's just I don't know how to make it work anyway the time does the light doesn't work and maybe you're smarter than me you can make this work I was thinking maybe we could have a little bit of fun if you guys want to offer me something something I can't refuse or maybe you have something interesting to trade I don't know but I'd like to put this into somebody else's arm who knows how to work this properly and you know enjoy it instead of leaving it in my drawer that's who I am so if this kind of thing interests you please send it in my PM and if something does catch my eye with what you offer me I will answer you back if I don't please don't get bad it's because I'm probably not and by the way I am NOT giving any guarantees on this okay the batteries new I know the time works and that's all the rest probably does but I just don't know how to work it and I do not have

any the box that came with it or instructions if you need instructions I'm sure YouTube has them someone made a video about it or not so if this thing does interest you it's it's practically new I mean I hardly use this as you can see it's got nowhere and it's very comfortable so anyway this is a different video and I thank you for your patience and I hope that you are going to have a wonderful new year to come this is Mike from bushcraft Barton's bye
