we're a little bit late coming in but I guess it's better than nothing all right so now we are set up like this one hammock on one side the other hammock on the other side two little makeshift tripod to keep our bags off the ground because it's raining very very quick look at this is the DD amick and this is the older version it's what about four years I guess yeah I guess about four years so here you have a place where you can put a pad it's got a zipper to get in and you've got this beautiful bug net and of course I know it looks weird now when you sink into it it just becomes great now my tarp is not set up on this side because well we'll be having ourselves a little fire cooking and and stuff it's cause it's got a kind of a shock cord or a bungee cord you know so if it's windy it doesn't rip it apart I'm not gonna explain all this myths of knots there they have to go fast but you got your push stick not here the tarp so it doesn't move and this I guess this would be the most important you know because if it does rain this is the direct line pretty much right to my you know it goes right into my hammock and you know you can't calculate the distance between the trees perfectly for the tarp to go there there so what you do is you just tie yourself something a little further and you know water goes down so if it rains it will go down down on the ground over here I never had a problem there so that's the setup for tonight we have about my wife set up is the same thing exactly the same thing so we have a boat now we're left before Sun set got to get some firewood and got to get a fire going doesn't need to have supper Josie Wow beautiful neck knife right there thank you very much Jase I appreciate it a gift from a friend of ours okay so that being said talk to you guys later all right just a little thing I just love the perspective of a lady concerning bushcraft we never think they think of the little things now she's got you know her tarp her hammock her bag and I was saying she was taking a tarp out again I said what are you doing with that tarp for feet when she gets into her hammock not to get them dirty that's pretty smart anyway I don't think of us guys would have thought of this so you ladies doing some bushcraft we truly need you makes life more comfortable one last thing I forgot to mention my wife has a has a when you call a sleeping bag she'll be sleeping in a sleeping bag and I'm making a test tonight

I've got no pad under no pad under here at all all I'm gonna have is a wool blanket well it's big enough that I'm going to leave one part in the ground well on the bottom and I'll I'm going to cover myself like this because it's supposed to go down to +5 Celsius you know about 40's and Fahrenheit and I want to see if this is enough and I know I'll tell you in the morning just a little tip if you got some old carabiners there

this is a chain all that you know I wouldn't normally bring down the bush but this is more of a permanent type of a place you just take this you know the Clipper off or if it's already broken and tie a little simple wire at the top so this doesn't come out and this hangs your pots nicely if you keep this the clip in here you'll find that a little bit of a pain especially when you have gloves because this is hot to take your pot off but like this it works fine guys because we're in a rush there's no fancy meal but Matt in the house it's pretty cool Pass Jeep he's the expert we have lasagna and what's that one deep stroganoff with noodles supposed to be two cups we're supposed to stir them up the bags goes for what ten minutes seven to eight minutes I'm gonna get some more water

now when you know what you're gonna have a fire going like this for a while cook the supper just a little tip you guys still go camping it often always fill up your Billy can or whatever can you got I'm not going to put it right shorten this a little bit not right under the fire and keep my stuff form whenever I want some tea later or coffee I'm gonna have to bust my head - wood mine's good the beef stroganoff I'm just gonna add a little bit of my spices no even though we were in a rush finish work and get here and don't have much time

and it's raining hasn't stopped not a big rain there is enough to keep you wet it's still a great time okay

this is pretty good see another useful tip about a tripod is that the dryer at the same well we're dehydrated stuff it's pretty good

thumbs up for mountain house who's that Indian girl hey Pocahontas Pocahontas alright this before it starts getting dark in the camera it looks my goodness it looks a lot more clearer than that now because it's always raining we decided to set up the tarp a little bit different until we go to bed and this just keeps everything dry when we sit down and the same on my side tarp over and I thought you know what a tarp is such a good thing to have so next time we'll be seeing you will probably be in the dark okay now it's really time to relax now when you're of course you guys know this but when you got some tarps close by you want to keep your fire not too big not bigger than that now once you got some good coals stop putting small pieces put some nice big bigger dry pieces and you'll have less popping them like right now I'm in my chair and right on top here I am protected

all right won't have much more wood than that because I mean we're not going to need a fire to keep us warm just to have some fun maybe I have to go pay a little bit more talk to you guys later all right my last tour might as well show you a do a little bit when I'm out in the bush just before relaxing we've eaten we've got our firewood our teas drink we're all set the food is stored away safely my last thing I do is go back to the river fill up my billy can and this time I'll put I'm not here to boil water because I want the fire I'll just put it even higher so it's more morning when I get up I don't have to go down to the river get the water just get the fire started bring this back down and mic off you'll be ready in no time all right so this is about the time where we say good night this is how whoops what's going on with this thing okay so I got my wool blanket everywhere make a little test and this thing okay make a little test right now it's eight Celsius which is in the forties they're low 40s it's supposed to go down to three it's just not so bad but I'm anxious to see just with this wool blanket if it's gonna work right now I'm warm and toasty but the real test is around three four o'clock which is the time where it gets the coldest at night pretty much any night of the year you know depending an advance hour and all that but you know between 3:00 and 4:00 is pretty much there so I'll let you guys know in the morning good night all right so right now we're gonna have ourselves a nice coffee no later on we're going to have a bite to eat dry up your stuff
