alright so today we are starting ok

aight makeover a little tired of it need some change so we're going to start working on it well what are we going to do this campsite well we'll try to do something a little different nothing out of this world just simple hopefully you'll be comfortable for the fall and part of the winter right ok so let me just give you a quick look and I haven't planned everything yet I just have a little idea what we're going to do so now usually the TP is there usually we that's where the fire pit is and we put our hammock chairs that's coming apart at fire pit is also coming apart ok I want to build between these two trees some kind of a you know off the ground bed bench not too high just something normal but i'm going to be using what i have from the TP and around and they may have to be using also i may have to use some some more trees and all may build your typical lean-to and we'll see anyway so look at one last time because this will be all gone so i'm doing first I'm just flattening one side of this log that's here I'm going to saw it into and use this as my base on both sides flattening it so it doesn't want to roll and obviously I'm going to need some shims because it's not straight so flattening this just a bit don't need to flatten it too much and then I'll start out saw it right so

I'm not going to be fancy with this just going to use what I have and it's not going to be I don't want to put too high i want to be comfortable for sleeping and for sitting ok that's the main goal I don't know depending on how I have to share maybe a foot off the ground which is plenty you know four inches off the ground is the minimum I'll keep you safe from the cold from the ground affecting you so above all that above that you're safe so let's see the work I'm gonna have to put into this alright so obviously these are going to need to be this is going to come higher so try and even this up best I can I'm going to leave that at the right height that's not going anywhere need to bring that yeah okay so anyway I know if it shows on camera is pretty straight so I think I'll leave like that secure it in place need to flatten out two small ones there that'll be just easy split so they don't roll away just to make it secure yep

you

okay so this is the idea we have going so far oops so got my bench done you know bed bench it's always nice in any camp to be able to sit down not just lie down so that's multiple now what I want to do is I have a ridge pull the top here just put a tarp you know really steep tarp especially for the win against the wind my back and you know I want the snow to just go down and not bother the tarp too much now I have these poles here going at about a 45 for now they're secured here at the bottom I have a root on that side they're tied up right there and I'm going to secure because this is a pretty wide area here so the Wade the snow going to put some weight there so I'm going to secure two posts under here one there and one over here so that no problem now I'm not going to put post-its going to take way too much so I'm just going to put another one in the middle and I'm going to take some smaller trees and just put them you know horizontal just to save on some trees and what you want to do the cross poles you don't want them to be too big one for weight and to you don't want too much of a distance between your hold on you don't want too much of a distance between this pole here and the pole that's going this way just you know just to keep the tarp from going down too much you know the distance anyway probably can't explain it right but you'll probably see it so right now we're time for a break Josie got the fire going oh this fire pit I'm going to destroy it obviously because it needs to be inside take the rocks off there's about a foot of sand I'm going to come here and cover the roots at least eight inches if not a little bit more and make myself another fire pit but not round more of a rectangular shape about three feet from my bed and just to be able to make cooking fires because of war you know of course it'll warm you up too but mostly for cooking fire so that I don't want to make too much of a big fire because my angle here it is about the fire is going to be about here so it's going to be this high so I don't want it to be I want to make too many big fires because I got to protect my top here okay now I could have lifted up these ends here to make it higher okay but then my angle here would have been wouldn't have been steep enough you know on the snow would have been more heavy and all that but anyway right now it's time for a break okay so here's a little view from the back of course there's all kinds of shadows and stuff but make a wall here the bench is secured in place I need to cut all these posts their fire pit

so right now what we're doing is Josie got a fire going I have to cook yeah I think when I need some coffee what do you think coffee first I agree so as you can see remnants of the TP be able to got quite a bit of wood still that I had cut and the force I want to store it may be under there somewhere if I can find some place and we'll see okay so that will be it for today I think I've got quite a bit done I'm just going to clean this up tidy it up cut all needs that could be cut have some firewood I made put any I'm going to put a support in the middle there to hold the whole thing when the snow does come and of course I'm going to have to take the snow off every time but with a nice meal support against that route there is going to be very solid so this will be the first part and hopefully I'll be able to finish it in the second part but right now I got a nice big juicy steak tea you guys take care and enjoy the wilderness this microphone Bush out Barton's bye
