all right so we just got off work tomorrow we have a day off so take advantage of this time to spend some time in the woods and well I'll be testing a new piece of gear besting it because in the bout might say maybe the last weekend our first weekend of July I mean Canada

I'll be leaving with my wife Josie three days canoe trip and would be pretty cool the area where we're going can only be accessed by canoe or kayak so and I want to test this piece of gear because you know I have a little Idol both sceptic concerning sleeping bags you know the very light ones like the one I have right now is two pounds and I simply got it because it was on it was on special almost half price so you know why not

and it's very light very thin I'm very sceptic but I'll try it out tonight is as you can see the black flies are out now tonight that's supposed to be a low of three Celsius so that's around I know maybe thirty five Fahrenheit but it's only supposed to be good for seven so this will be the ultimate test for this bag

all right I got one more thing to talk to you guys about then we'll try and find a suitable campsite I'll be sleeping in a hammock Josie will be sleeping in a tent so let's give me a second so concerning my previous video you know about the horizontal carry I thought I'd touched this subject right away now there's two questions that came out of the video you know mostly and the first one was concerning people were worried about being in the way of you know your hit your hip belt on your pack and the other question was why do I wear two belts

well actually I'm gonna answer both questions at the same time as you can see I've got my hip belt tied under no it's not the way it's still very comfortable that's why I have a second belt because I can play with it now in this particular situation I just have to lift it up a little bit and it's on the way that's why I have the second belt also why I have a second belt is if I need or when I have to take my knife or when I have my pouch I didn't bring it this time I just have to take this belt off you know just put it away instead of taking my belt from you know my pants and you know the pain of taking everything off I just need to take one belt out and it's done and I mean there's no hassle with two belts it's it's actually neat and you know I can get to my right here but let's say you have you know one of those packs that goes right around the waist well that's what's neat about having a second belt there's no loop in the way so all I need to do is move it a little bit more to the front and it's all set and it's on the way you know I can still manage it pretty cool so just to answer those questions I don't have a problem anyway with this pack maybe your pack will be different

by the way I know there'll be some of you they'll be seeing this peg that I'm wearing here you'll be asking what it is it's the Canadian Patrol pack all right now it's time to find a suited area to put my hammock remember that Jeep all right so tonight I'm gonna be set up a little bit differently now this is the old DD hammock that I that I have had it for five years and with this one because the bottom is waterproof you can use it as a bivvy someone will be sleeping on the ground and I'll be testing again the sleeping bag I was telling you about I'll just take a minute and I'll show you all right very quickly this is it compressed it's about will compress that's the size of it it's about ten inches this way and about of laughs maybe six inches in diameter right outbound okay 210 the shell is 210 polyester diamond ripstop 227 grams bus seven hole insulation dimensions under 91 by 84 centimeters 75 inches by 33 inches 2.1 pounds so how do you get into this thing good question expose loosen this up you loosen this up and get inside and no it's not a mummy type so this is it this is well be testing its microlight outbound that's got different things on it there but anyway I don't have time it's getting dark gotta get a fire going and anyway here you want to know more about it you got the I told you all about it or pretty much I got this unspecial as I said maybe thirty five bucks but it was like almost fifty percent off so it must be around seventy bucks is this thing what I'll tell you in the morning if it's totally worth it or not outbound micro light no you all set up books are like like well

but as soon as you get away it's cold so we're gonna put some hot stuff in our in our tea we're gonna make a an experiment I thought I'd brought two to the same tea but it's one is green tea but blueberry bonked and the other one is this mint tea oh boy it's gonna make a nice mixture so wait on that and have a nice cup of tea before going the big thing is already can't see what am i doing okay oh yeah it looks like a nice color anyway

nice and hot alright yeah I don't have to show you something I got this we're gonna have a tea there but I want to show you my headlamp you guys are looking for a headlamp my other one was kaput finished and I got this one again on special maybe 25 bucks and it's pretty awesome don't go away now as you can see I have my headlamp on well you're not gonna see me well but you know I don't usually show the things but this thing is pretty amazing it's got you know two or three kinds of lights but I want to show you this is the smallest light okay now you probably won't see a thing in front of you now let me put the biggest light now everything's closed that's a headlamp that's cool then I can see easily easily 100 foot 125 feet in front of me easily I think it's 75 lumens is the highest let's fit for 15 hours

look at that my gosh maybe you don't see much in the camera but I'm pretty impressed with this thing that pretty cool anyway let me just show you quick there cuz you'll want to see this and I need Josie's like to show you what it is alright so this is the guy it's not too big it's really cool it's a black diamond very comfortable in the head as I said on special of 25 it takes your 3 small batteries where are those triple-a I always forget but anyway you got low and high and you got the red light you know for at night and that strobe thing I never use those things I'll use the high and the red for reading at night but anyway this is it so if you're interested in something that's good not expensive very comfortable Black Diamond and I don't see anything else just says Black Diamond so you see what it looks like so just before going to bed my absolute last chore they do all the time those of you know me I was trying to following this river or Creek me well no that was me do this with one hand so I get my water I'm gonna clean it up a bit because there's some tea good morning would be some coffee oh sorry about that all right now for my coffee that's just about I'll put some more there okay so that's what I do before going to bed I'll get this guy ready and put it close to the fire when I get up in the morning and start the fire I don't have to come to the creek just take care of my fire right for this boy to boil up back at the campsite so what I shall do just put this guy Nazi close to the fire but this fire will die down and I could put a whole bunch more I got a lot but you know so it I got some coals in the morning but that's already 9:30 so just start her up again but this will be ready so now it's time to get into my bed so hope to see you guys in the morning breakfast is at 6:30 if you're interested bacon and eggs yes lights out well

be very honest with you guys it was cold of course we didn't give it the you know it says seven as a maximum and true so I got I slept from maybe 9:30 to midnight and around midnight it was too cold so I got up started the fire we both got warmed up and that feel good went back to bed able to sleep until about 3:00 around 3:00 I tucked it around 4:00 4:15 they got up and start the fire again it's nice and beautiful now it's five o'clock getting this thing boiled up have some wonderful coffee it's still a beautiful morning in the sugar bush or maple woods we call it trigger woods here but it's just beautiful waking up the sound the birds just a little breeze a bit chilly with the fire we're fine so as I said last night you guys hungry we'll be eating around I said 6:30 I what time I have to ask the cook to chef you know what time to become
