okay so we are out hunting today and well we got our first Partridge pause we go get it if he doesn't mind it's actually a grouse or in French Bell disease you're not to pay and call it whatever you want and we have to travel a lot of miles kilometres is to get one but it's worth it let's see

singers their focus okay beautiful bird the best meat there is in Walbert this meat here is white it tastes like say Turkey with the wild side of it so let's clean her up okay so I need to show Paul how to do it so just in case you guys happen to kill a grouse so you want to know a quick way what you do lay it out its back let me take this off

okay so you laid on its back and you want to put your feet you know sometimes especially in the wintertime you don't want to wait too long because you want to keep on hunting you don't have time to take all the feathers out and all that stuff so put your feet right on the side you have to be really close extend the other one you do the same thing okay then what you do is you grab both legs and you want to grab them where a drumstick I guess and you don't want to pull too hard on it right away cause you're going to be left with the legs want to slowly pull from one side to another left and right just slowly pull on it everything comes out it's the best part of course is the if you want to eat the kidneys and liver you can the heart hi this is lungs I guess I need to do is snap the wings off one come on you two are you left with a nice beautiful breast and this mean as you can see is not dark just tastes great now what you want to do now the wing part there's like hardly anything but if you want to save on the we need some drumsticks okay let me do this right take time to show you you break the bone see where the bone is you just cut around the bone you don't want to cut the bone because your knife is going to become just to show you the little bit of meat that you have which is not much but it's better than nothing oh if you could if you'd be stuck and you'd have actually no knife you take your time you could actually do this whole bird without a knife now the bone is broken they're back yourself a nice little drumstick now I rarely take the drumsticks but in case you wanted one well that's how you do it one of the ways anyway so we're going to continue hunting and hope to get a lot more right Paul yep okay okay so we decided to take a break because we need it we need something hot in our bellies we're going to have ourselves a little coffee hot chocolate and cook up maybe two legs or drumsticks from that great Partridge so mister Paul is going to show us how to start a fire right Paul with what are you using today that would fat wood okay let's see the expert at work here so what Paul is doing starting with gonna make himself a nice fair pile of fat wood lighter up and get that fire going yup

well done sir well that's really good because this the first time Paul uses fatwood whoo nice okay alright so we got our two little drumsticks it's not much but we're saving these are going to be pretty good all my spices are going away this is habanero and garlic just going to put a little bit in here make sure it a little bit everywhere

there now she is ready it cooked slowly okay now it's time to warm up our bellies with a little bit of well Paul is going to have some hot chocolate okay oh that looks nice and hot and chocolatey I'm gonna have some coffee still do hot pretty fun

well guys I'd like to invite you for dinner but I'm sad to say hmm guess it's not much left but I just wanted to show you when you do kill a partridge I was never a big fan of the drumsticks you know the legs because there's not that much mean it's worth it but there's like tons of little tiny bones like this so you got to be careful if you do ever nothing beats the breasts actually but she was good so we are pretty blessed we have ourselves a little shack with a stove and this is going to feel good because we're wet our clothes until little shack here that's about five by eight by seven maybe high top quick look boom boom oh there's a mighty hunter Paul gasps we're better right now this morning was with the winds at least minus 20 Celsius so it's nice to be able to dry stuff and have this little you know you don't need much perfect those winds must be at least -20 getting a little tired not much action going on missed a couple but should be more pretty soon won't be able to talk you sorry about that got gloves on it's pretty steep here doesn't look like it but we don't want to shoot anything here cuz I'm not gonna go get it so I'm not gonna shoot it but we are in snowing so it's going not so bad rabbit partridges not as plentiful as it used to but anyway I am we have to stop anyway because it's getting a little bit late and just take our time going back out got maybe mile or two mile and a half so it's not so bad keep an eye out for more stuff so anyway I hope you enjoy this whole video and don't forget if you love hunting go out be safe and have fun bye
