alright so in this video we're going to be talking about my horizontal Kari why I prefer this now again it's a personal preference alright I'm not putting down the vertical carries I still carry like that but we're just going to be talking about why I prefer this one so some of you asked why I like to carry this I'm going to tell you pretty soon but you want to know where I got it let me just back up a little bit about three four years ago I I purchased or I had someone make me for Josie my wife a sheath for her knife and it's you've seen some of you the videos if you've been you know with me for a couple years exactly like this so I tried it you know while back and I really fell in love with this and I was probably wearing it more often than she was so I decided to start looking for one and I had a hard time finding it and I finally found one it's a guys on eBay what is a leather world right now he makes these sheep for the more a clipper right but my classic you guys have seen this one before right Ventris worn fits perfectly in it so if you have a similar knife and you want to get something like this you know you just all talk to him and he's going to adjust this piece here for you and if it's great now what I like about this it's not just horizontal carry I have a pharisee rod attached to it right and I have a pouch for the dc4 so everything is in here fire knife and sharpening cool now why do I prefer this than the vertical carry and I'm going to repeat myself because I don't want to insult nobody the vertical carry is awesome I love it it's traditional and I still wear it hey this video is just answering questions about this why I personally prefer it three reasons first of all it's never in the way second reason it's easily accessible

I need my knife quick I can get to it without you know stretching my neck or anything like that and third well it can be concealed more easily as well so instead of talking more let me just show you you want to sit down on a hammock chair any chair is on the whate right hardly feel it very accessible my eyes I can see you can put it back in no problems as you're traveling you want to sit down relax a little bit against the tree don't even know it's there my leg down can position yourself again very accessible no danger there I can see what I'm doing if I eat it quickly you want to sit down your hammock comfortably don't feel the knife and get to it easy or you want to tie down your hammock same thing don't feel it and get to it and you know what I often sleep with my knife need to get into your car put your seat belt no hassle the only we know it's there now I know what I'm about to show you there's not a big percentage that may happen but let's say I have my vertical carry and something happens whatever reason and I bust my hand hurt my arm we give you a demonstration I'm walking and I tumbled down oh oh wow what am I going to do my arm is broke in my hand I know I'm not a very good actor right this is kind of fake but anyway my hand is injured right I can't move it whatever now I have my vertical carry on this side can't get to it but with this horizontal carry I can still get to it with my left hand if I need my knife real fast I can still put it back safely no problems whatsoever those are my main reasons why I personally again as a personal preference like the horizontal carry first remember it's 95% ever in the way number two always easily accessible and number three you can conceal it let me show you that one so what I'm talking about concealment more specifically when walking in parks you know national parks I want to know I like to do that you know some people will you know just take a day hike or travel from campsite to campsite stay a few nights and that's fine

the concealment is for those parks now there's not a lot of people or I mean it's not very popular to carry a knife this size on your belt in a more public place

most of us or most people will have just a you know folder so my concealment the only reason is for the other people that I'll probably meet that are not used to seeing this and be overwhelmed and you know not give them the right idea why I have this on me so that is what I mean by concealment so if it's a little cold day what you can do is have yourself a little sweater right don't even need to tie it doesn't even show I have a knife or if it's a little hot and you just need your t-shirt we always bring a little shirt like this you know just in case it gets cooler at night just wrap around to such so it doesn't show right it's all hidden nothing showed perfect now I'm the type of guy that especially if I'm to three days you know at least one overnight I want to have something that I can count on no matter what happens you can lose your pack someone can steal your pack all kinds of things could happen but I'm always like to know that this is on me no matter where I go and if I can conceal it and not cause nut problems but you know people having bad thoughts or judging I will do it so this way I know it's on me at all times without getting any problems one last thing about the horizontal carry if I'm right-handed which I am with my knife obviously it's on my left side so being that I'm right-handed I can grab my knife on my left side so that gives me a good option to have whatever on the other side and still be able to use my good hand to use it that doesn't have to be the pouch anything else if you have a vertical carry and it's your right hand here wherever you put on the other side you're going to have to use your other arm which is not as good probably as this one right I'm not confusing anybody meaning whatever I put on my sides I'll be using it with my good arm whatever it is right so one last thing about concealment

if you're still not comfortable having the knife here knowing there's people you could always what's cool about this you could always you know turn it and put it right in your back this way it's really hidden you know there's no problems

and still get to the knife there you go so anyway these were my reasons my personal reasons for this type of carry again not to insult nobody concerning the vertical carry I find it cool I still like it just answer the questions you guys asked this is Mike from bushcraft bargains
