alright

one cool thing about leaving the tripod set up you can easily find your fire pit so I know if you remember in one of my earlier videos in the fall at stack some wood to be able to find it when I come back the top of the tree as high as I could we'll see if it still there right there that's gonna save me a lot of work and having to cut some new ones or dig it up and three feet of snow all right time to bring this to the fire pit I'm going to have to keep my fire going see that it's all water now it's nice to find a fire pit and all the snow is not so bad but I've got some a lot of ice so I'm going to have to keep my fire hot to be able to get rid of that water so I can collect some coals alright

sky ready

oh why not bring a little bit more see

that a hard time it was getting to the wit part

now it's all a matter of keeping this fire nice and hot as I said melt away that ice and build some coals slowly get some snow melted and same time I will be have to take care of my fire I'm going to be in the way now click your little higher okay fire all right so is wind direction important when you set up your base camp or your shelter set up there's a fire have to be positioned and different way concerning the win and all that yes it's important now I don't have the perfect example right now because I don't need to do it but we'll take a typical example of a lean-to and a long fire in front now we'll pretend that my long fire is right in front of me here and the lean-to is in the back so before I sit all that up is it important to see which way the wind is coming obviously logically and we all know that we don't want the wind coming towards us right that's clear for everybody as the smokes going to come into the lead to and that's going to be intolerable a little mistake that some people will do they'll put the way in the back of them meaning that my lean-to shelter is in the back and the wind is coming from the back now the problem with that what it's going to do most of the time the wind is going to come over the shelter you know on shift and bring the smoke in the in the in the shelter in the lean-to and it's going to do the same thing on both sides most of the time it does that and again you're going to choke trust me it's what they call always forget terms in English the eddy action i think it's like if i put a a rock in the creek you know a little bit of water the rock is still sticking out of the creek i put it in what's the water going to do it's going to go around the rock and go right in front so that's just to give you a little examining so the best way to set up your as much as you can I know when you're in the woods and the trees the wind will shift but when you know your dominant win it helps a lot so best way to set up your fire lay your layout is parallel to your setup mylene tues in the back the wind is coming this way I want to put the fire like that as much as I can the smoke will be going out now I know the wind is not always perfect but it's the best way to you know have somewhat of a comfortable night if you're using a fire to heat yourself up now another little mistake that sometimes people do and this is my experience does I make a lot of mistakes they're going to close both sides and that's okay you know try and keep some heated but again imagine that wind is coming this way fires there sometimes it's going to shift its going to maybe go that way and this wall here is going to capture the smoke and again you're going to be very uncomfortable so what I suggest Justin width is coming this way you want to make a wall fine make it on this side don't make it there this way it'll be the best setup to keep that lovely smoke out of your lungs alright so our position right now is we just stopped working we're just waiting I just stopped working she just stopped working the wind is let me show you the wind right now is on our side going that way we started to have some nice coals and that wall in the back is acting as a perfect heat reflector and plus it's white all natural so our work was not in vain so right now I need to do is wait for this to go down and we are going to have ourselves not a snack a royal treat stay tuned alright guys usually we have our coffee after our meal but we gotta wait till we get coals this time so I have to confess something we cheated we're having your coffee first this isn't that just look awesome that black hot stuff is going to go down my throat in my belly and I'm going to be happy and while i'm there I've got tons of people asking me where I got these cook saws I did not make them I got them from a store in Finland on ebay it's Nordica heat the name of the store but now you can get them I mean there's tons of people that sell those I go on ebay or maybe even amazon to get them cheaper now it's time to drink alright so a little tired of waiting so we're going to read this a little bit make a little room for Josie she's cooking our own stuff here there what we want is the coals not fire coals okay make it as even as I can for what I want to do now make it a little better for you

little place so remember guys on the when I was in Haiti i said i was craving for steak would be the first thing i'd eat but i'm a second video you seen with the firebox I said that I would eat it here so i waited it's been what two three weeks oh yeah yeah i was tempted i was tempted but i kept my word and i'll be eating my first piece of steak since Haiti over here and I've got a double A or triple a Angus I think it's we call ah the top loin anyway a nice chunk of steak throw that on right on the coals and Josie let's see yours special just for dish for Josie that it's a shank i type mixture there's even bok choy in there if you know what it is it looks pretty good oh yeah so what I'm gonna do I like that you know keep it about I like to eat it medium rare so i'll leave it just a minute or two in one side then we'll change it on the second on the other side give you a little close-up of what's going on for a second there once that side is done we'll be right back all right not very long the coals are pretty good spend about men and a half two minutes now what do you do this now my clothes were black dark side when you start seeing ashes you want to blow the ashes off before you put the stake in so I'm just going to take this off just got a few coals go bring back some hotter ones just put it on the other side hello this looks like it's tender boy they're fine be a tender piece just give you a close up again

about a minute that's going to be cooked and I think Josie is not too far too that's done for sure maybe a little bit too much

oh yeah that's perfect oh this is going to be some tender I'm telling you all right but we have with this today is what's a call get tues o noodles how many so you guys know when we do eat you like to show you guys our spices right well this time I got something different that I never shown before and for me it's out of this world it's not a spice it's like some kind of a barbecue sauce that you can use to marinate or just use it to eat right you know right like that and I you guys know in a big fan of Clubhouse montrell steak well that's what it is all right you guys got that its new and this is some good folks so that's tender man you're me it looks good too ok let's see ya oops pretty good sure it's good oh yeah cook the perfection as I like it all right nope this way mmm I'm on another planet right now wow this thing is tasty tender show me your pile show them oh yeah just now Josie's meal looks pretty awesome too good know that well it's a special day today so that's why you got a special meal ok talk to you guys later well this was a fabulous meal awesome wasn't it remember what I said earlier that this was a special day well we are the twentieth of februari 2014 and what is that Josie it's my birthday it's Josie's birthday ah happy birthday Josie you guys take care thanks for watching [Music]
