How To Make A Fish Trap - Fast Weaving Method

Description

In this video I am building a fishtrap. I try to use willow bark which is much easier to weave the basket and much faster than willow shots. I needed like 5 hours to build this trap. I didn't catch anything so far, but I keep trying. Next time I am going to make the hole of the entrance a little bit bigger, because it might have been too small.

hey guys I'm Lilly and today I'm back here at my back of camp number two and today I want to build a fish trap and as you can see I've already haven't said some from rules if they're pretty flexible and they make a good frame for the fish trap but now I have to go in search for some kind of reading materials so that I can weave the basket together okay I have harvested a few of these we low setting and we know actually has a good park when it comes to making cordage and now I want to debug the branches and use the box for the leaving material [Music]

okay so I have test switched out the thinner bark with very thick layers of bark and this is working so much faster like five times faster [Music]

okay folks so that trap is ready and it needed me about five hours to make the trap has made this entrance and before going to close it I want to put some bait in and today I have some bacon with me and okie egg which is great because it stops the small fish getting to your bait okay I'm going to throw some bait some bacon into the trap and I'm going to close the trap with this cone-shaped entry here you really have to make sure that you don't have any holes in between the entrance and the body of the trap basically that fish is going to swim into the trap but it's not smart enough to swim out of the trap again look beautiful unfortunately there's nothing inside of the trap there's a huge crayfish over there but they are not in season yet okay I'm back at my camp here and I didn't catch any fish although I have seen a lot of fish but most of them were very small and I think that maybe they have you know made it through the little gaps here and the trap so I'm going to close this gap now and try to make the trap even tighter let's go say can try nothing is there ok so there's nothing in the truck and I think it's the bait the bait is mouth grade you know as youth one spider and some bacon so now I'm going to exchange it with a grub and rainbow you see if I have more luck with relationships okay I'm back here at the river let's see if I have caught something

yeah unfortunately I didn't catch anything but I think the trap is working and the bait is working as well and yeah sometimes when it comes to survival you need a little bit of luck to catch anything and this time I didn't have any luck but I'm going to keep trying and I'm sure that I'm going to catch a fish trap in near future and yeah so if you want to see more videos like this please subscribe to my channel you can also follow me on Facebook Twitter and Instagram to stay tuned till next time alright
