In this video I try to make a bow drill fire with my knife. Unfortunately I failed making good quality cordage. My energy drained fast after a lot of slipping and ripping. The lanyard hole of the knife made a good barring block tough. Survival training is hard work. Always take a fire lighting tool with you, when you go into the woods.

hi guys my name is Lily and today I want to make a bow-drill fire with just a knife and right now I'm standing next to a willow tree and below is great wood for a bow-drill because it's very soft wood so now I'm cutting off this branch here and today the conditions are very difficult because it has rained for two days and today it's very humid so we will see if I can get this going okay I got my branch okay back in my camp now I'm going to prepare the boat it'll set so I think I'm going to make the spindle out of this part here and this is going to be the fire board spinless ready okay this is the fire board and I have a bowl here but the bow doesn't have a cordage so now I need to make some cordage out of natural materials okay

I tagged AB free root and the larger one and leave it that way and these two thinner ones I'm going to take and make a cottage with put them together to make them stronger

okay that's it let's see if it works the ground is pretty wet today because it has rained so much so I'm I have taken this bark off the tree and at the inside of it it's very dry so this is going to be the base layer of my bow drill set up I am carving the notch now but I'm really worried about my string because it's almost through I think I have made a mistake I have made my notch to white and now the spindle is jumping out so pretty bad I have to make a new hole yeah Maxie go on go away ripped this time a calf they're not perfectly no dammit okay after ripping several of these spruce roots I decided to take some paracord and cheat with the paracord well cordage good cordage is not easy to make from natural materials actually I'm running out of energy and the Sun is going down whoo okay at the last couple of tries I was exhausting myself too much so now I have made a break for half an hour and it's getting dark so I'm putting on my headlamp this here is the th 20 this is the smaller version of the bigger th 10 that I have here both of them are headlamps but this one is a heavy duty one this here runs with a double-a battery and it's pretty lightweight so it's pretty good for running never forget your flashlight if you're out in the woods because today I didn't expect that I have to stay out here for such a long time

okay yesterday night I failed to make the Builder of fire because yeah I was getting weaker and weaker and today I want to try it again with the same wood and see if it was just me or the wood yeah so I'm very happy that the bow drill set worked so now I know that the wood was okay and the choice of wood was a good choice however I'm not happy with my performance at first I have a very bad notch which was unnecessary then I used very bad cordage which ripped all the time and I was constantly getting weaker because it didn't work and at the end I lacked stamina so for myself you know as a woman I don't have a lot of strength so I have to get even stronger and train even more than men for example and that's what's on my plan I want to thank you for watching and yeah if you want to see more check out my channel subscribe to my channel maybe follow me on Facebook to the Instagram and state until next time bye you
