How To Make A Bushcraft Candle

Description

In this video I gonna make a candle with pine resin and birch oil.

Birch oil is not very flammable itself. But it can be used to paint wooden fences since it is biodegradable.

hi my name is Lily and today I want to make a candle with fuel from natural materials stay tuned okay here I have a candle which I made one year ago and as fuel I used 50% pine resin and 50% beeswax

so now pine resin is very available in nature and it is burning very well almost too well it is highly flammable and you really have to mix it with another fuel component if you take pine resin alone it will go up into flames it will be burning like a torch basically so that's why you have to mix it with some other component which is not that flammable in this case I was using beeswax 5050 a problem with beeswax is that it's not so easy to find out bees hive and if you find one you would have to destroy it which is bad because these are close to extinction and that's why I was searching for another fuel component to mix with the pine resin some time ago I was making a video about how to make virtual which is an amazing substance it comes from the bark of birch trees it's just a little bit flammable and today I want to see if I can mix it with pine resin and make a good candle out of it stay tuned today I'm using an alcohol burner because today it's very hard and I don't want to risk a forest fire okay I filled some pine resin chunks into this little can here and now I'm gonna heat it up over the alcohol burner don't let it get too hot you don't want to burn the stuff up so it's definitely possible to make a good candle out of natural materials I want to thank you for watching you can follow me on Facebook Twitter and Instagram and have a great day
