Hello my name is Lilly and I am making videos about primitive living skills, survival, bushcraft, camping gear and prepping. I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

survival experts like David Canterbury have broken down survival on five items the so called five Cs and these five Cs are cover a cutting tool a container a combustion device and cordage okay so let's start with the first C which is cover last year a 70 year old man fell into the crack of acacia and he broke his hip and he had to stay like six days and six freezing nights in the crack he survived because he drank water from the eyes he had about chocolate with him and he had some sort of emergency space blanket to cover the vital parts of his body having some sort of cava is the key of controlling your own body heat if you don't bring a top we feel you can use natural materials to build a shelter okay so I collected some big sticks now and when shelter feeling I like to take the strongest for the basic structure because they are going to hold all the weight of the shelter I gotta weave in some smaller sticks to make the shelter a little bit more compact and to connect the sticks with each other

so now it's time to cover the shelter with something that you know in case of rain is maybe a little bit waterproof and windproof so around here I have materials like grass leaves and firm so I'm cutting off some firm now with my Swiss Army knife and then I got a with it into the shelter construction the next C of the five Cs is the knife you can use a knife for a great variety of tasks like for example for pedaling for having Paris tix for having a bow drill set so if you lose your knife in the wilderness this will push you to your own personal limit you can craft sharp edges and plates from stone by flint knapping but all through Flint's can have a very sharp edge it will be harder and take more time than with using a knife now let's come to the third C of the five Cs which is a container like this here this container is a stainless-steel canteen by nail chain and it's very important to have a container with you when it comes to sterilizing water by boiling you can destroy 99% of all bacteria and other nasty stuff if you don't bring a container with you you can use natural materials like clay bark or wood to create a container which is waterproof but it will be tricky and take a lot of time you

now let's come to the foresee of the five Cs which is a combustion device for example like this plasteel here by light my fire I think that a fire steel is a very reliable method of making fire it froze very hot sparks it lasts you for a long time and it's waterproof so I think it's the perfect way of making fire if you lose your fire steel in the wilderness there is a method called the bow drill which if done Brad creates fire by friction okay

just create a small ember so I'm taking out the n-bomb ah and then very careful it's not destroy it you go away yeah okay so now I'm taking the amber and put it into my little birds nest

there you go fire by friction the last sea of the five Cs is coated like this paracord here paracord is reliable and it's great for lashing up your shelter or if a good string for the bow drill is needed if you don't bring some sort of cordage with you you can use natural materials like grass bark or roots but creating some quality cottage out of natural materials will take a long time thank you
