Hi, my name is Lilly and I like spending time in nature to practice my survival and bushcraft skills. This is a holistic survival channel which means that I also do videos about prepping and urban survival. This is not a purely primitive survival channel. Sometimes I use modern tools which people might have at hand in a real survival situation. Also all of my videos are pre-recorded, which mean that they do not get released immediately after I film then. That is why seasons in the video can differ from actual seasons. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

okay guys here we go today we are going to talk about the top 5 urban survival skills let's start with number 1 lock-picking let's imagine you get in the unlikely event of being kidnapped do you know how to pick simple tumbler locks well here's how first of all you need to insert a tension wrench into the plaque and put a little bit of pressure on it insert a pic into the lock and try to push down on the pins until you feel a little bit of a kickin vibration do not use too much force on the pins otherwise you risk an overtake and if this happens you have to start from the beginning and release the tension wrench again when you have successfully moved all the pins into the right position the time blood will turn around and open the lock urban survival skill number 2 how to build a makeshift gas mask first of all you need to take a plastic bottle which should be quite big 2 liters or so and then you turn it upside down you cut off the thick end of the bottle and cut a window into the side of the bottle so that you can wear the mask on your head cover the shop plastic edges with tape so that you don't scratch your skin next you need to cut off a can and approximately 1/3 off the height of it push a couple of small holes through the bottom of it and then you can take some cloth buy some ground cotton pads and you insert one of them into the can and then you need some activated charcoal which you pour into the can until it's almost full and then you take a second cloth or pad and you wrap it around the mouth of the plastic bottle and last but not least you just stick the bottle into the can make sure that you seal it airtight with duct tape and that's it that's your makeshift gas mask which is effective against pepper spray but it also might filter out some other gas however it needs to be say that it will never be as efficient as a proper gas mask urban survival skill number three how to make fire with electricity you can use batteries to make fire you probably already knew that and she probably already heard about that 9-volt battery and steel which is working pretty great but to be honest who has steel wool with them and it's more likely that you have a small battery with you and maybe some chewing gum first of all you need to cut out a small piece of chewing gum paper so that there is just a thin part in the middle the finer the better and then you want to use the contracted part of the chewing gum paper to shortcut the battery this will heat up the chewing gum paper until it starts to burn and there you have your fire you should be warned though because short cutting a battery can lead to damage or explosion of battery urban survival skills number four be prepared and don't forget to take a urban survival kit with you a get home bag for example is a survival kit for an urban environment and it increases your chances of getting home in a shtf situation the kit should include the following items flashlights ashemark gloves a survival bracelet a radio Olvera notebook storm proof lighters hand sanitizers and tissues a big trash bag which can be used for emergency shelters and map of your city and Pat encompasses duct tape a glow stick a lockpick set a mobile phone power bands

first-aid kit food and water and self-defense tools which can be a tactical plan a simple multi-tool a tactical flashlight and live signal whistles or a crowbar urban survival skill number five situational awareness in urban environments it is of utmost importance to be aware of your surroundings where are you how many people are around you is at night or daytime and who is working behind you is anyone showing some abnormal behavior around you where can you escape to when hits the pen do not listen to music or walk while looking down on your smartphone it will take away your focus on your surroundings so that's it now you know the top five urban survival skills thank you for watching and stay safe
