Hi, my name is Lilly and I like spending time in nature to practice my survival and bushcraft skills. This is a holistic survival channel which means that I also do videos about prepping and urban survival. This is not a purely primitive survival channel. Sometimes I use modern tools which people might have at hand in a real survival situation. Also all of my videos are pre-recorded, which mean that they do not get released immediately after I film then. That is why seasons in the video can differ from actual seasons. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

hi guys my name is Lily and today I'm going to build a bench from a bar called camp stay tuned okay these two pine logs here they are my foundation for the bench and now I need a couple of trees which come over the foundation and yeah I just tripped out hunting seeds because I've barely used it and it was always in the way and when I have friends here it would be very nice to have a nice bench and yeah when the fire burns here the distance should be okay so it's not too near to the fire but also not too far away okay I just found this green tree here and it's still alive but the top the tip of the tree had broken off so it's never gonna be a nice tree and it's also shaded here underneath the beech trees so it doesn't really grow anymore and I think it's going to die soon anyway so I'm going to cut down this tree here as you can see I'm debranching this lock here and I tried to make the surface as smooth as possible because I'm using this log for a bench and you don't want to have a branch sticking into your bum so it's pretty important that you have a smooth surface as you might have noticed I'm using a new hatchet today and this one here is by the company brandy it's an italian company and deverson nice to sponsor this video thank you very much the X here I mean the hatchet is made from 1045 carbon steel it's fully polished and it's a German type X which means that it gets wider here at the front and the plate is also hardened and the hatchet comes with this nice Hickory handle and Alain yard at the bottom with a lanyard hole in the handle and this comes with this very nice leather sheath which is pretty stable and durable very picky and yeah it has also a very nice color and secondly they also have sent me a bigger medium sized eggs this one here has 1,000 grams one kilogram of head weight and yeah I'm going to use this one later for splitting some wood some firewood

[Music]

the bark of a pine tree is pretty thick and pine trees actually can withstand wildfires if it's only on the ground and yeah but minify is on the top in the Crown's even david burns so but usually they can withstand a lot of fire I'm rounding off the lock here so that it doesn't split when I pound on it I have talked up some spruce roots and these ones they are great because they are very pliable and they can be used as cordage and the thicker ones are actually a little bit too thick so I have to split them to make them more pliable otherwise they would break when you're splitting a root you have to make sure that you don't rip out one side so he have to split the root evenly and I can control that by pulling down one side more than the other one and then the split is going to move left or right

pretty awesome we have a little bit of bounce but that's okay [Music]

the fireplace to have reflectors they are not standing anymore so now I'm going to repair the fireplace a little bit

okay now it's time to try out the eggs I want to split some wood for the winter time okay when I'm making a strike to the firewood that I want to split I always go into a lower position I bent my knees quite a lot so in case that I missed the target that I don't hit my own knee it hits the earth first so that's one safety measurement it looks crappy but you don't want to hurt yourself in the wilderness yeah so this is how to build a bushcraft bench I've only used natural materials and I also have this table here so I can put some beer cans on it and yeah I want to thank you for watching I want to thank the company brandy for sponsoring this video you will find their website in the description below thank you for watching and stay tuned to the next time
