I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. hi my name is Ellie and today I want to plant a survival cash stay tuned okay first of all what is a cash a cash is basically some sort of supplies that you might need in a future emergency situation for example you know when there are big disasters like Hurricane Katrina or tsunamis earthquakes and if there are a lot of houses destroyed it will usually take two to three days till help arrives or even longer as we saw at Hurricane Katrina so it's a wise idea actually to plan some caches along your Baggett route or near to your backup location

my backup camp is not too far away from here about one kilometer away I don't want to plant the cache too near to that camp because you never know what happens you know maybe some other people have occupied your backup location and then you don't have the opportunity anymore to get your cache so that's why I always stay away from my camp a little bit and yeah so today I have this plastic container with me which is a first-aid kit general purpose container out of plastic and I think it's great because plastic doesn't dress like the metal containers do and it has this rubber seal around it so it's waterproof so now I want to show you what's in my cache here okay the first thing that we see here is a trash bag always comes in handy it can be used as a trash bag or as emergency shelter or if you want to make an emergency punch out of it so it's very useful here I have some tissues a hand crank flashlight a mirror so you can look at your face see if you have any interest at your back maybe or just for signaling here we have a cheap can't inset okay next in here we have a nice candle we have a small knife a folding knife then we have some food here canned food which has a pretty long shelf life one two and three of them so that's enough food for three days and then I have some coffee in here some chai latte some more food more coffee then I have this cotton hand towels some tampons always good to have and I have some cordage and cotton for this is wrestling soaked cotton balls for making fire and here I have this matches here I got a lot of them and this waterproof container more tampons I got this cheap compass here which can give you a general direction a small first aid kit always comes in handy some more cream for the coffee some right in the rain paper and this pencil here so if you have some important notes to make you can write something down which is important then we have this emergency drinking water the expiry date is till 2020 that's insane so it holds a very long time and here I have a spoon and last but not least I have this very nice poncho by mill tech okay so we have a lot of useful things in there we have shelter in there we have food in there we have our container in here so we can purify water and first-aid kit very important and basically yeah this is a basic wilderness survival cache you can make different caches you know urban caches the most important thing really is that you don't use too expensive gear for your cache because if you don't find it anymore you know you don't want to lose a lot of money and the other thing is that you want to use items which have a long shelf life okay next I want to take a whole sambar there are not too many routes because in the forest it's not so easy to dig a big hole actually because of the roots of the trees and pretty happy with the spot yeah it's an area where there are not a lot of people and I really like it because of the stone and with the stone I definitely will remember where my caches I'm pretty lucky there are not a lot of fruits in there okay the cash is right in here and here so it's not so easy to you know recognize that there is something going on here obviously the leaves are you know looking a little bit suspicious because they are lying upside down so that's that's not so easy but I don't think that anyone will find the cash here so actually it's quite difficult to find your cash again if it's well camouflaged so it's very important that you mark the cash on a map of your area or maybe if you have a GPS you can get the coordinates of your cash that's maybe the best way to make sure that you will find your cash again so me and Docs we want to say thank you for watching and if you want to see more subscribe to my channel you can follow me on Facebook Twitter and Instagram stay tuned till next time bye
