How To Splice A Handdrill

In this video I demonstrate how to splice a handrill. The handrill is one of the most difficult survival skills you can accomplish. I used yucca for the bottom part because of its softness, I glued it together with pine pitch. The other part was hazel which is one of the very few plants that grow fairly straight.

okay guys so today I want to try to splice a hand drill and I have brought this Yakka piece from my garden and Yakka is great for hand drill because it's very very soft but it doesn't grow very straight so today I'm splicing it to this straight piece of hazelnut [Applause]

okay in here I have purified pine resin and now we are going to melt this down I have brought some charcoal with me and now I'm grinding it down to have some binding material quite a few [Applause]
