In this video I make some adjustments to my fire place at bug out camp # 2. In a previous video I dug up the fire place a little bit deeper but then the air circulation was not as good anymore so I decided to put in some roof tiles to create an air tunnel. With the new air coming in from the tunnel the fire has more oxygen to burn more efficient now. One other positive side of this fire setting is that now the wood burns almost smokeless just like a dakota fire pit.

Hello my name is Lilly and I am making videos about primitive living skills, survival, bushcraft, camping gear and prepping. I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. hi guys I'm Lilly and today I'm at my backup location number 2 and I've actually got some work to do so stay tuned ok first of all I want to start making the fire pit a little bit more efficient and as you can see I have dug a hole a keyhole into the ground but actually it's not getting enough of oxygen so today I want to make two more tunnels to get more oxygen for fire and hence fire will burn more efficient and with less smoke today I have brought these times with me and they come from an old pond on my property and actually they make a very good air tunnel and when I was digging out the tunnel the earth I watched out that I dug deeper at that end because then the air is going to get sucked in into the fireplace which is good for the circulation of the fire otherwise is the if this end back here would be higher then the smoke would go out of the fireplace but that's not what we want okay that's looking pretty good now I make the same construction right here by the way I'm selling so if I have a lily t-shirts now you can find them at my Spreadshirt shop and you find a link in the description below okay at this side here I'm only going to use one tile because back up here it's already going up and I don't want it okay it's starting to rain though and I'm getting cold so now it's time to make a fire [Music]

this is almost like a Dakota fire pit but it's not as deep and you still have you know a lot of coals to cook on a smokeless fire is always a good idea first of all you don't give away your location so if you don't want to be found this is the way to go and second of all if you are in a survival situation and you need to sleep by the fire if you are unlucky it could be that the smoke gets inside of your shelter and this can be a very bad thing because sometimes the wind turns in the night and if you have a fireplace like this you're going to have a comfortable sleep I want to thank you guys for watching please make sure that you follow me on Facebook to the Instagram and stay tuned till next time
