Hello my name is Lilly and I am making videos about primitive living skills, survival, bushcraft, camping gear and prepping. I consider myself being a modern hunter-gatherer who wants to live as close as possible with mother nature and right now I am in the process of learning how to live off the land and thrive in the wilderness. Thanks for watching ~ Survival Lilly

hi guys my name is Lily and today I want to show you three knots that might save your life in a survival situation stay tuned okay the first survival scenario is that you are lost in the wilderness and you have a boat with you and an arrow but you have lost your string and you're desperate for food and you need to go hunting you need some kind of cordage and mostly paracord can be found in survival kits so today we are going to attach paracord to the bow okay for the bowstring knot we make a simple knot into the end of the line and then we take a bite into the string like this and we hold it like that and then you take the longer end go around your finger go around the loop and you go back where the finger was right there and there you got your bow string not which is completely adjustable

here we go perfect posting you let's try it out okay the next situation is you are lucky enough to have a tub and you want to set it up and you have found the perfect camping spot but your ridge line is too short to go from one tree to another and for that you can extend your line with using the double sheet Bend okay now we want to join these two strings together and the first thing we do is we take a bite in the first string like this and then we pinch it down with our fingers of the left hand and then we take the tag end off the red cottage feed it through the bite like this and then we go around the bite come through this loop that we just created go around and at a time and go through the same loop again okay now it should look like this and then you just pull it tight and that's the double sheet Bend now we have set up our line and everything is great and on tension but we have decided that we want to put a fixed loop on the line so that we can hang in our top and for that we are going to use the Alpine butterfly knot okay for the Alpine butterfly knot we take our string like this and then we make a loop and twist loop again so now we have two loops where we can put through our fingers like this it kind of looks like a figure eight now we take the loop that's on the top and we swing it down like this and we go through the loop that was on the bottom okay and this is the Alpine butterfly knot it's a fixed loop that won't open by itself and yeah it won't slip in either direction it's important that you practice knots because otherwise you will forget them so I want to thank you guys for watching and if you want to check out out or not videos check out the videos here at the side you can find a link in the description follow me on Facebook Twitter and Instagram and stay tuned till next time bye
