In this video I make a bow drill from freshly collected materials. It was quite humid, but still this was the best fresh bowdrill using willow on alder I have ever made.

hi I'm Lilly and today it has rained a lot and yesterday night we had storm and thunder and I just came across this old ah which is blocking the way I gonna take some of that branches with me and try to make a bow drill set with it ok I gotta go for it I think uh part of the treaty because Davina wants the branches they are pretty soaked with water all the way through and the thick of the wood the more dry it is at the very inside so I'm taking big browsers it feels very dry at the inside hey I just found this willow tree here and Willow makes great material for a bow drill you're not gonna call into the brush and cut off one of its dead branches okay I've made myself dirty wet but I got a decent piece of willow and I think you're gonna use it for spindle okay the Sun is coming out now let's drive to the buggered camp okay first it going to prepare the fire board and I'm going to use the elder for it and I'm going to picked on the words till I reach the center okay I got this is a fire board here out of that core of the L of wood and yeah it seems to be the right size but I'm preparing the spindle I'm going to store the what's here in my pants because I don't want to lay it on the wet ground here

okay everything soaked on the ground so I'm searching for a piece of bark that I can lay onto my fire board okay now let's see if I can get an amber I didn't bring any tin love with me today because I didn't find any so today's goal is to produce an amber okay I have produced an Amber with the first try and I'm very proud of it it worked out great I used willow on other and this is my biggest ember that I've ever produced so that's a good combination yeah I think the bigger you get with the with the spindle that easier it is actually and I think when it's very humid and when there's a lot of rain it's essential that you cut down big dead branches and you put on them until you reach the middle of it because the middle of the wood is usually very very dry and that's what I've done today and it works out great so I'm very proud that's my best bow drill that I've ever made so I want to thank you for watching if you like this video leave a like or a comment and if you want to see more subscribe to my channel by the duck
