well good morning folks I wish I'd have a beautiful Sun and green grass to show you but doesn't look like it let me give you a little glimpse here this is pretty much unbelievable we are at the end of April beginning of May

a lot of snow again right now I'm going to meet with Paul and Jeremy again what we are planning on doing is I wanted to help them a bit build a certain campsite or you know a base camp and way

it's always nice to have a base camp the wood land that they like to go to you know it's a private land the information whenever they go hunting or fishing or just scouting around it's always nice to have an area where you don't always have to look to where you're gonna make a fire and where you're gonna you can relax so hopefully we'll get that started to the but of course where we're heading is in the mountains

so can imagine the amount of snow we're going to be having up there which is a little bit of an obstacle because what you're looking for a campsite you especially look for the terrain you know we want to find some fairly flat ground and want to see what's under there this snow is not going to help but anyway we'll see what we can do so stick around and hopefully we'll get in the woods pretty soon this is unbelievable now does this look like a beautiful spring day to you with that there's a good six inches of snow well I guess we'll have to deal with it don't have much of a choice but you know we're higher in the mountains so that's why there's a lot more snow here than you saw earlier with a car was to be expected yep

not the best time to look for a campsite all right so a little update on our improvements now I know it looks like a mess there will be some cleaning up our main poll is held on with the y stick on that side well anchored and will anchor it in the front here which grabs this poll the main poll and just hook to the tree that way so it doesn't go anywhere and as you can see some nice poop droppings from mr. moose and got the same deal going on the other side here holding both sides firmly now eventually we're going to be we're still going to tie it up okay just in case someone wakes up in the morning they're sleeping here and hooks this but I just wanted to show Paul and Jeremy that this could be done without any cordage so now we're just going to make a difficult line - and if we have time we'll make ourself a bench and all that good stuff we're in a pretty cool area got some birch lots of birch lots of dead wood lots of dead cherries here too so that's good hardwood and we still have a view but it's a pretty wet day to do all this but lots of fun though so keep you guys posted okay well done maybe we'll just have yet you can just maybe throw it over there we'll see if it's a level so we're making a very strong bench or bed so it lasts a little while as you do this you want to make sure it works okay so we'll put one in the middle maybe this one ball and then see how it goes maybe a little higher some adjustments and I will need to do is put some polls that were today we're pretty much done on the shelter doesn't quite a bit actually and got some other ideas to make sure if it does rain that you know the fire is all covered up and use a tarp probably make another roof but the main thing is done seat bed very songs got big trees lean-to that a four to five need to cover that up in the back but now everything's wet out here okay and I just challenged Paul and Jeremy that they have to build a fire because I'm not and if they succeed I got a surprise for them if they don't no surprise

okay just to give you a closer look again and we'll eventually tie that up at the top but it's still really secure got a nice strong bench or bed and we are going to I'm going to cut the I mean I'm going to try and cover this corner completely on this one too and maybe they'll probably make another wall there who knows and another wall here but for now that's what she looks like okay so obviously what you see here is a very dead birch tree and I just took this part off and look what I found in the middle a perfect round bird's nests I did not make this how cool that is and of course it's not the first time I find that these are more likely squirrels or nests for the winter don't worry I didn't destroy their home this was going to die and fall anyway but look how cool perfectly round and most importantly dry okay so when you're looking for dry wood or wood to start a fire quickly

of course dry standing cut it and get the middle part it's going to start right away but sometimes we don't have much time see this this is a dead sometimes it could be punky sometimes not but if you chop this and you open it see some punky wood here all this is going to burn nice all this middle stuff here get your fire going and plus it's a looks like a black now come and pick this up get that fire going

obviously this too big to get started so you just want it just cut it in whatever piece you need okay it's going to help then only need to do is this is going to this is funky so it's very easy you create some fast shavings until you have a nice pile going oh this is going to catch good got to be ready prepared

Punk would is easy to get and simple to use especially when you're in a little bit of a rush get your fire going well somebody else gets some good stuff so you hold your Faris iam rod okay put your knife and you hold your knife steady and you just pull on the Pharisee and rod right over there that's it start by putting a little branches and all the shavings way don't worry it's going to catch

even though the punk wood is a little bit wet still catches quick now we're going to need to get some real wood Oh just in case he will be alright you worked hard

tempting isn't it your chances I can see it don't like the smoke

is going to be good old bacon already flavored in maple you

get your hands out of the buyers gonna give birth what do you want stick okay so I thought I'd and we finish with leaving you a nice little piece of bacon this would be probably the only piece you could get because we're going to eat the rest so can you smell it mmm yeah smells like maple wood burning cherry smoke whatever so thank you for watching we'll see you in the next video you
